| So *that's* what Glorfindel did!! Such a funny image of Glorfindel dragging Erestor through the hallways. I don't blame poor Erestor for trying to save a scrap of dignity and refusing to go any further without knowing what trouble his friend caused. “Whereas I imagine you were definitely trouble for your parents, just as you are for Elrond and me at times.” Y'know, I just can't imagine Glorfindel as a child somehow... I had to laugh at the way Legolas sees nothing at all strange about the behaviour of these two elves! It says quite a lot about their reputation, doesn't it?! LOL, I'm inclined to agree with Galadriel that Glorfindel's idea was a good one! I imagine the second she agreed, Glorfindel probably realised he'd pay for it if the twins did indeed end up as dressmaker's dummies for the day, hence him racing off to find them;)I notice Erestor didn't exactly stay and argue either once he heard the story... “Legolas dear, are you out there?” Hilarious! I'm still laughing at that one. Even though a teeny part of me wouldn't mind seeing Legolas modelling Arwen's veil:) It sounds as though every male elf in the place will have mysteriously disappeared soon. Do they *really* think Galadriel won't know what's going on??! If you ask me, it was all a clever plan of hers from the start - either to give her grandsons a bit of fun, or more likely just to get all those darn males out from under her feet! | Yay, a jenolas story! How lovely to see Sam and Legolas together. It seems that they’ve discovered a common love of “all that grows”. I like that they seem so comfortable together. You really give the impression of two people, already friends, who have just discovered even more that they can share. I loved when Legolas asks Sam “Why Samwise, are you not also both a gardener and a warrior?” It brought a lump to my throat that Legolas thinks of Sam as a warrior in the same way that he himself is:) “Did you know that many of the people of Minas Tirith claim to be able to see the trees, flowers and even the grasses begin to flourish as you walk among them?” LOL! What a great image. I have no doubt that the trees and flowers do respond in some way, but it’s quite amusing to see how amazed the people of Minas Tirith obviously are. I get the impression that they’re all utterly fascinated by these elves among them. It’s lovely too that Legolas attributes his tie to nature to being Thranduil’s son. What a very wood-elfy picture you create of father and son! Ah, Merilwen, how could you pass up the opportunity to spend time with Legolas??! The poor girl was probably mortified. Good old Sam, though, teasing Legolas, who sounds as though he knows all too well how the maidens of the city see him! I really enjoyed the scene between Glorfindel and Erestor. I love that they can read each other so well and can be perfectly open and honest. Poor Erestor. It sounds as though he has had too much time to brood when he hasn’t been involved in the wedding preparations. How sad that such a joyous occasion for most has brought sadness to him. It’s as though now that he’s away from his familiar surroundings in Imladris, Erestor has realised that time moves on and that much of his role, and indeed of all elves, is no longer necessary. It seems to me that as well as the sorrow at having to part from Arwen and Aragorn, Erestor is also someone who needs to feel needed. I’m glad that Glrofindel points out to him that Elladan and Elrohir will still rely on him, even if it is just for advice. In the meantime, I imagine the twins need to escape from the festivities as much as Erestor does. Hmmn. It sounds as though Glorfindel has been a bit mischievous. I wonder, will the Advisor regret his decision??! Great start, jenolas – I can’t wait for more;) Author Reply: Yes, Legolas and Sam have much in common with their love for nature, and i thought it would be nice for Sam to help with a task he knows so well. Erestor is feeling left out, but Glorfindel, being the good friend he is, will keep him occupied. Glad you like it so far, Dot. Thanks, jenolas | |

| I loved Sam and Legolas in the gardens. I liked that Legolas had dirty hands and that to Sam's eyes and ears, the plants responded to the elf's attention. How nobel of the elf to consider the maiden's feelings. How sad for Erestor to be in this city and not be ordering all around....very true to character and nice pacing...Twins and revenge?
