| Great opening chapter! You asked me to tell other typing errors I would spot: Merry had sat beside of Frodo’s and Sam’s cots while they slept whenever he felt able to leave Pippin I'm not entirely sure if this is wrong, but shouldn't it be sat beside Frodo's..." Frodo could see that Pippin was explaining his wounds to the lads., but he couldn’t make out what was being said. There's a full stop and a comma after lads, that's one too many :) Author Reply: Thank you! I will fix those. You are making this story much easier to read for the others and I am grateful. | |

| I love that Frodo took it into his own hands to make things better between Merry and Pippin! You wrote them wonderfully, Pippin trying to get up and Merry making him stay put, it would get frustrating but I'm sure Merry is only doing what he thinks is best! I'm looking forward to finding out how Pippin fares with the Big Fold, it will be different for him not to be under anyone's special care. Looking forward to more! Author Reply: Thank you! I always have fun writing Merry and Pippin. I am glad you are enjoying them. Also, I do like it when Frodo takes charge. I do believe that after the quest, Frodo did try to have a normal life and so I try not to write him as too depressed. I am not very good at the serious stories. LOL | |

| Another chapter! (where is dh? uh oh, I hear footsteps) "Are you one of the Perian" I believe the plural is Periain. Perian is singular. Also, riders of Rohan are Rohirrim, I think (don't have my source nearby but I have typed the word a lot, recently. You have a very nice way with dialogue. It rings true and is believable. The acid test, of course, is to read the passage aloud, and this chapter passes that test nicely. Author Reply: Thank you for the spell-check. I count on those. I shall change the Perian to Periain and check on the riders. If you find more, just let me know. Thank you for your comment about the dialogue. | Very nice plot twist! I don't think I've ever seen this done. *chortle* I got to read another chapter! one slight jar was Pippin and profanity. Somehow that seems beneath him... perhaps i have put him on a bit of a pedestal. Hope he's not afraid of heights. Author Reply: LOL He's a Took! They aren't afraid of heights. I was looking for a way to show just how irratable he had become and so I thought that I'd let him go just a bit out of character as a show of frustration with everything that he has been though. You will note, that I didn't put any of his profanity in the dialogue. I am not altogether sure what would constitute Hobbit profanity anyway. LOL Sorry about the jar. | |

I love the way the hobbits all look out for each other, and that Frodo has to be sneaky about looking out for Merry, who is busy looking out for everyone else... A nice beginning. | Six chapters!!! A Cormallen fic!!! Looking forward to some lovely reading. Dh had to step away from the keyboard a moment, so I don't have time to read right now, but this is going at the top of my "next time I'm online" list... Many thanks to hobbit_lass for getting another GW story within easy reading reach. KWYM about that "stalling" business. I have a story over in the beta area of HA that has been stalled for months, a 10 chapter story which I think needs only 2 middle chapters to be complete, but... every time I look at it I hit a blank. Odd, that. I always fear it happening in another story. (It did, in "Runaway", but Jodancingtree pulled my fat out of the fire, whew!) Anyhow, I had just enough time to write a long review that says almost nothing. Still, it is a word of encouragement. Looking forward to reading on in the morning.
