Trust a Brandybuck and a Took!  by Grey Wonderer 14 Review(s)
DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: 25 on 2/16/2005
I would not want to be Toby and his friends. Having Merry angry because one had been foolish enough to make his Pippin cry would not be fun. But I'll bet he would be very subtle in his revenge, so that they would never know Pippin *didn't* figure it out on his own.
Oh, and I love your Fredegar! What a sweetie!

Author Reply: As you know, Merry is very good at getting even when his protective side comes into play. I seem to remember some Banks brothers that got theirs once upon a time. LOL I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed Freddy because I have always thought that no one writes him better than you do! Thanks for the review!

Pippin is playing a game one I reconize in the telling as a child. It keeps falling and gets frustrated as it seems he isn't good at this game. They yell at him and seem to ridicule him but Pippin keeps on.
He won't quit because he dosen't want them to call him a quitter or a baby.
As Merry and Freddy come along they see a different side to this game..There is Pippin on a hot summer day in a meadow thinking he's playing a game with the other children,he's not..
Merry soon has Pippin out of the blindfold, and trys to make him understand this hobbits played a bad joke. Pippin trust to easily, and that could hurt him in the future. So freddy and Merry agree on the following day to take him on a fishing trip...After all someone needs to watch after Pippin... Someone should get those hobbit children for what they did...

Lovely, sorry I went on to long...

Author Reply: No, don't be sorry. I like the long reviews. It lets me know what you liked and what you didn't like. Thank you for taking the time to review this one and for being so sweet!

Oh poor Pip! It's a good thing Merry and Freddy came by and are so sweet for him :)

Author Reply: Yes, Pip is very lucky to have the older lads looking out for him like they do. He is far too trusting on his own. Merry will see to things.

Poor Pip!
I loved this! Its a very lovely and touching moment between the cousins.
I love seeing Merry look out for Pippin!

By the way, I think you might have meant 'ridicule' instead of 'reticule' in the first paragraph.

Author Reply: Thanks for the spelling correction. My spell-checker hates me. LOL I corrected it and now it makes much more sense. So glad you enjoyed this and thank you for the review!
