Trust a Brandybuck and a Took!  by Grey Wonderer 15 Review(s)

Adorable! Oh, the Merry!worship all through Pip's childhood! What a sweet, cousin-y tale. I especially love how patient and understanding Frodo remained all through that marvelous cow-pony story.

:D

Author Reply: Frodo certainly got an ear-full about that cow/pony didn't he? It is a very good thing that he is such a patient hobbit and that he knows very well how to keep a straight face during an improbable tale. Years of living with Bilbo must have taught him that. Thanks for the review and I'm glad that you enjoyed this one.

There must be rather a lot of people around young Peregrin Took who got rather tired of the words 'Merry says' until at last they became so familiar that they stopped even noticing them. Merry might think that Pippin doesn't listen to him, but he must be the only one!

I love the pony/cow story. It's a masterpiece - as is its delivery.

Very much looking forward to more of these!

Author Reply: Yes, everyone must have been extremely tired of "what Merry said" by the time Pippin finished quoting him. With the age difference I am sure that Pippin was impressed with everything that Merry had to say, especially his ideas on how to eat biscuits. LOL
Glad you liked the pony/cow story. For some reason I seem to write a lot of stories involving farm animals in unusual situations. Cows, ponies, goats, chickens.....I wonder what that could mean? Best not to think about it too much. Thanks for reading!

Cute! I think the one with Pervinca is my favorite, I laughed out loud when Pippin said “Because Merry says that you don’t know anything so how could you know if Merry knows everything or not?” Pippin said.. I love the humor in your stories :)

Author Reply: Pippin's sisters probably heard more about Merry and what he said than they could stand some days. Glad you enjoyed Pervinca's reaction to it all. I like to write her but haven't had the chance much lately. Thanks for reading!

Frodo chuckled softly as Merry gave his full attention to his fishing. No, Pippin didn’t simply listen to what Merry said. Pippin memorized every single word that left Merry’s mouth, believed most of what Merry said and then repeated the wit and wisdom of his older Brandybuck cousin for the whole Shire to hear every chance that he got. Pippin Took was the leading authority on what Merry had to say even if Merry didn’t realize it.

I think that Merry must be the only person who doesn't realise it! Loved every minute of the GW.

Author Reply: Merry may be the one who isn't listening if he can't hear Pippin mentioning him in every other breath. LOL So glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for the lovely review!

Oh GW! It's so *good* to see another one of these! I just adore it! And it is *so* true. Once of these days, I'd love to see Frodo let the bit about the cow pony slip to Gandalf in front of both Pippin and Merry--that would be priceless!

Thanks for a lovely start to the day!

Author Reply: A plot bunny! I might have to write that one. I'm am sure that Gandalf would be very interested to hear the details. LOL I am also sure that Frodo would be more than willing to tell all under the proper circumstances.
Glad you enjoyed it. I hadn't done one in a while and last night this just turned up waiting to be written. That you for rec'ing it and for all of the lovely feedback. You are a sweetie!
