Baggins!  by Grey Wonderer 13 Review(s)

LOL! One in the morning! Frodo and Merry really went to great lengths to get their revenge. Not that it wasn't deserved. It would be annoying to be woken up like that all the time. Frodo is extremely good with all those details and I love that Pippin didn't really believe he had a bucket. Now you have to write a story about Pippin's payback!

Author Reply: Frodo is the master when it comes to long range planning. LOL Glad this gave you a laugh and I am convinced that Pippin is planning something.....

Now THAT was cruel!!!! ................................. But very, very funny!!!!

At first I comiserated with Pippin being woken up. I really loved the line: “Greet it for me, will you?” Pippin muttered from beneath the blankets.
That is how I feel most mornings, being a nightshift worker.

But then as I read on, I really started to feel for Merry and Frodo ... until it was realized Frodo was carrying a bucket.

Poor, dear Pippin!!!! I would be outraged to first be woken from a sound sleep, have icy water dumped on me, then discover it was only ONE in the MORNING!!!!!!!!!! (and then be forced to clean the mess and try to get warm while your two cousins slept blissfully behind closed doors)

At least Frodo realized his revenge would have to wait 10 long years (now that's patience for you) and that he could not have the heart to do such a thing to a child.

I'm not sure the end justified the means in this case. Yes, Frodo and Merry were tormented by Pippin's early morning "greetings" for many, many years but to do this to the poor lad......I wonder what he's planning for revenge.
(rubs hands eagerly together in glee anticipating a sequel) :D

Author Reply: At one point or another in this story I think everyone had a right to complain but Frodo had waited ten years for his chance and I guess his plot just grew from getting even to getting ahead. LOL I had people who are cheerful in the morning and who expect me to be cheerful too. I think that's what made me write this. Between the three of them they list some of the things I hate about being woke up. hehehe My least favorite morning greeting is, "Rise and shine!"

Glad you enjoyed it. I suspect Pippin is thinking a great deal about revenge just now. I am sure that before too long he will come up with a plan.

*ROTFLMBO*!!!!!

GW, how on earth did I miss this? I thought I always read all the Challenge stories!!

This is wickedly funny, and I love the whole thing--but even with the bolt on the door, Frodo and Merry had better keep alert. Pippin's revenge may take on a form they don't expect! He's going to be prowling around Bag End for hours while they sleep...

Ah, Frodo, you can be evil--but you are a very *good* host--"details"! *snorfle*

Author Reply: This wasn't a challenge story. This turned up in my head at about 4am and I just wrote it all down and posted it. It's never been anywhere else before.

Pippin is as angry as "a wet hen" er "Hobbit" at this point and I am quite sure that he will be planning something. My mind will probably find out what before too long. All of that shaking and freezing and cursing has got to lead to something.

I do enjoy an evil Frodo from time to time and I had been neglecting this little group of stories. Suppose Frodo got any advice on his detailed hosting from Dora or her book? LOL
