i loved this! I adore Merry anniversary fics as much as Frodo ones so i was glad to read this little ficlet-- i really liked Pippin being there for Merry and the comforting words were great to read as well.
Poor Merry in remembering the slaying of the Witch-king
really liked that last bit with Pippin about Old Man Willow~!

Great stuff, Jen-- i'm glad you're writing again. =)

Author Reply: Thanks, dear! I'm glad I'm writing again too! I've missed it (and the hobbits) a lot, but as you know, the muse can be very stubborn. I'm so glad you liked the bit about Old Man Willow. That was a last minute addition and I really hoped it would work! :)

I have so missed your hobbit stories! This was lovely. Very like hobbits in the way they didn't dwell on the dark things too long. Bravo! Anytime you feel like writing I will turn up to read it.

Author Reply: Thanks so much, GW! I really appreciate your very kind words. I'm so happy that you enjoyed this ficlet :)

So many things could well set off the memories, I'd think. Poor Merry--but at least Pippin understands--far too well, possibly.

Author Reply: Yes, I think that Pippin definitely understands what Merry is going through at a personal level. Thanks so much for reading, Larner!

A dark dream indeed for both of them. I love Pippin's gentle scolding that if Merry had told him then he could have looked after him better.

Author Reply: Thanks so much, harrowcat! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I loved writing Pippin as the caregiver :)

Aha! Thanks for the link! *grin* I love your precocious young Bilbo--indeed, his curiousity will fade for a while; perhaps his experiences in the Fell Winter will even make him timid for a time. But Gandalf will be able to rekindle that spark of Tookishness in him!

*sigh* I wishwishwish there were more stories about little Bilbo!

Author Reply: Thanks, dear! I'm so happy that you like this one as well. I wish there were more wee!Bilbo stories too, he is so endearing to read and write about! I like your idea about the Fell Winter...I must ponder it some more! *g*

Oh, I'm so glad I found this one! I love the idea that this encounter might have been what drew Gandalf's attention to Bilbo many years later!

"Would-be thief" indeed! Little did he know he'd grow up to be Burglar Bilbo!

I hope I can find the other one...

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm glad you liked this oldie :D
I hope you found the other one...it's called "Questions and Answers."
I love writing wee Bilbo! He's so much fun.

*giggles* Well..I think that really sounds logical. *L*

Author Reply: I'm glad you think so! Thanks for reading! :D

Ah! How true! (Grinning!) Lovely!

Author Reply: *grins back* Thanks, Larner!
