aw, how sweet, orc filth. well, it seems that thranduil was denied, by genetics or valar, the preternatural cleanliness of legolas. poor thing. Author Reply: I think Legolas owes a bit of that cleanliness to the movie crew. ;) Every elvenking needs to get grimy now and then. :D

Ooops. Forgot to mention that I loved the scene in the snow too. Thranduil is a leader, that much is certain. ;-) I loved that and Oropher's reaction to it and the ensuing natural snowball fight. Author Reply: Like I said, it was Thranduil's idea entirely. ^_~

Wow! You did a great job with the battle scene in this. I could really picture the fight. I really liked how well Lindoriel defended herself but it was still very nasty how you showed the orcs trying to carry her off--as if that is going to happen with Thranduil around. ;-) I loved the interchange that started with this: Were they as terrible as you imagined they would be?" Thranduil asked, the barest hint of a wan smile touching his lips. Seeing them discarding things really seemed to bring home the difficulties of the journey--obviously crossing the mountains would be difficult and dangerous. You already showed that. But showing the personal side to it like that really made it sad. I also like the idea of Thranduil as a painter, so I liked that part of their conversation especially. A very tense, emotional chapter, Coriel. Great job! Author Reply: Thanks! ^_^ This chapter really went where it would in spite of me. I hadn't planned a lot of it before things just happened that way. I'm glad I was able to finish it, 'cause now I have to put everything on hold to get packed for next semester. Amazing how short the summer seems these days.

Oh good, you've started the second part! :-) I was wondering how Eregion would work into this tale and here we see right in the first chapter. I really enjoyed Oropher's attitude--he came so very close to earning the wrath of every lady in his party. So typically male. :-) And I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of Serataron--I like that book and the notes left in it. But of course my favorite was Thranduil's interaction with Lindoriel and Amroth and especially the dwarf. And I would pay money for a view of Oropher's face when Thranduil says, I was making the acquaintance of a Dwarf, Father. That was classic! Great start to the new part of the story! Author Reply: Thanks! We're moving on, getting to the good parts. ;)

I feel the need to leave another review, since the sight of an empty review-thing makes me a bit depressed. Anyway, am awaiting an update eagerly, checking back regularly, and growing tired of filling in the future on my own increasingly. Have a wonderful day! And update! Author Reply: Well, thank you! ^_^ It may seem a bit ambitious, but I decided to go ahead and split up the different books just in case they end up exceeding the 150 chapter options. There actually might even be a Book IV. I'm working on the next chapter as we speak, and I don't expect it to take too long. So, here I go back to work!
