| Oh, dear--unconscious Aragorn, stunned by an explosion of alcohol, apparently. One quibble--seems the Gaffer is in two places at once, one moment advising Sam to keep his cloak fastened as he sits at a booth, and the next being waved at as he speaks with the healer. Or is the healer sitting by him at the booth? Author Reply: Sorry if it wasn't clear that time had passed. I tried to show the passage of time by talking about the leisurely shopping and cart-loading that was going on. The Gaffer had wandered down the street by then! | |

| This is truly going to be one of my favorite stories from you, I suspect. I just love seeing the hobbits through the rangers' eyes and being a private witness to the goings-on of Hobbiton and Bywater. You do know your hobbits. And of course, this chapter literally ended with a bang---I am dumbstruck at the idea of delicious Aragorn h/c and delicious Frodo h/c both at the same time! It's chilling that this happened during the most innocent outing. Nobody will be expecting such a thing---in a way, the hobbits' innocence about weapons is coming back to haunt them, isn't it? And it's just perfect, having Aragorn grabbing Frodo and most likely saving his life. Another bond between them. :) Now I'm on pins and needles, needing chapter three, of course. Author Reply: "...the idea of delicious Aragorn h/c and delicious Frodo h/c both at the same time..." Eeeeee! I'm all excited about that too, Lily! I just love the bond between Frodo and Aragorn in this Universe. *melts with joy* | |

| Yikes! Now that was an explosion!!! Oh my! Aragorn is badly hurt, I'm afraid. And what about Frodo? And Sam? Thank God, Gilly Brownlock is nearby. So the healing can start immediately :) Or so I hope... Please update soon! BTW, Shire ale must be very strong stuff. Author Reply: Thanks, Elly! Yes, this story will be full of Frodo and Aragorn h/c. I don't think I ever wrote any Aragorn-healing before. Puppies!! Author Reply: Oh wait, yes I did! | Wow! I knew this was coming *somewhere* along the line, because of the questions you asked--but not *this* quickly! Eeep! Poor Aragorn! Poor Frodo! And I can see that those who were not hurt are really going to have their hands *full*! I hope there are enough hobbits around to hand out the comfort! | YIKES! Not just Frodo and Aragorn, but all those kids and Sam -- and the older hobbit who was shooing them away too! All of them in the danger zone! Bilbo and Halbarad are going to have their hands full... And Serinde isn't in Bree yet, is she? Yikes! Yikes! *gnaws nails* Author Reply: Serinde *is* in Bree, as a matter of fact.
