*melts* Fluff fluff fluff. Exactly what I needed.

Author Reply: I'm happy to bring you a full day's (week's?) quota of fluff!

*hugs*

It's a pity the story is over with so soon. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading it.

Author Reply: Thank you. I smiled while writing, it, too! :D

“Why, I suppose they just realize that I’m head of the household, is all. Tryin’ to curry favors with me, no doubt. Well, they’ll get no special treatment, you can take my word on it. Hard trainin’ and discipline, that’s what I always say.” And he knelt to pat the ‘little ’uns’, grinning widely as they nearly wagged themselves into a frenzy.

God, how sweet. *grins* And Estel's letter made me laugh aloud. Absolutely wonderful, Janet.

Author Reply: Thank you! I had all this leftover fluff, you see, and no place to put it... couldn't resist one more plotpuppy for this story! :D

Awwww!!! That was *so* sweet, Shirebound!

I especially liked this line:

"Both Frodo and Sam were a bit put out by the fact that, although they spent the most time with Patch and Blossom, the pups had apparently both fallen head over heels in love with... the Gaffer."

He *has* a soft spot, our Gaffer! He only is very good at pretending he has not ;-)

I liked the official adoption document and - of course - Estel's present. LOL!

As long as they don't start to dig up gardens that don't belong to them, Patch and Blossom Gamgee will have a lot of time and maybe even encouragement to develop their "wicked ways".

Author Reply: The same thing happened to me, when I was growing up! I fed, combed, and walked our dog, and she slept on my bed at night. But... she loved my mother the best! I can just imagine how delighted the Gaffer would be at such unconditional love and waggy-ness.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Andrea. The story just didn't seem complete with that "official adoption document".

:D

Author Reply: That should be, "without" that official adoption document! :D

Awww! *grinning* The Gaffer is all talk! And the puppies are so adorable! And this is so gentle and loving and full of happiness! Thank you for a wonderful and much needed chuckle, Shirebound!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you, QG! Yes, that grumpy old Gaffer hasn't a chance, now that two adoring pups have let his "softer side" identity out of the bag. As if his family didn't already know about it! I just couldn't let this story rest without letting Sam officially get his new pups. :D

*applause* Bravo!!

An adorable end to an adorable story!! Many thanks, shirebound, for a fun and fluffy tail . . . eh, tale :-)

Author Reply: Thank you, Pearl. I've lost count of all the fluffy tails in this tale! But those little rascals just wanted to come back for one last bow (and cuddle and feast and cuteness). Love 'em. :D

Aw, what a sweet epilogue. That Gaffer is just a softy, isn't he? I love the adoption papers and Estel's gift for the pups made me laugh. This was totally delightful!

Author Reply: Thank you! Up until a week ago, I thought this story was finished. What fun to add a bit more, and get the pups into their new home.

Puppies!!! :D

Oh Shirebound, what a delightful ending. Sorry it took me so long to review, but real life has attacked with a vengeance, though it is finally slowing down. I hope to be able to get back to my own writing as well as reading and reviewing.

Anyway, another wonderful Shirebound story, from the wonderful Quarantined universe! I always know where to come when I need a uplifting, cheerful, soothing read. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Author Reply: Thank *you* so much! What a lovely thing to say. I think Scamp needs to run over and jump in your lap for a cuddle.

GrumpyReviewed Chapter: 13 on 9/10/2006
Great story, loved it all from hurt rangers and hobbits to puppies. Love how Sam keeps changing the names of his puppies. You know I spent hours finding the right name for my cat, and he just totally ignores it, does not even know he is a cat.

Author Reply: Thank you, Grumpy! (I don't think our silly dog ever really knew her name, either.) :D

The Dwarves had set up a rude camp

I'm sure it was a rude camp! hehehe Did you mean crude?

When Dwarves speak of the earth, it is as poetry.

That gave me shivers!

‘Ranger’,” Frodo grinned. “He’s so scruffy, and constantly needs a bath...

Kind of like a pirate too *g*

Author Reply: 'Rude' in the dictionary sense of unfinished, or lacking refinement. I think, in this case, 'rude' and 'crude' are interchangeable. Those tricksy Dwarves!

Awww, scruffy little Pirate/Ranger. What a cutie. :D
