| You made my day with this chapter!!! It is simply breathtaking. Thranduil burning his wife's dresses broke my heart. It is truly amazing when you show as years, ages pass and he still stands as a warden of his people. I don't really know what I like most: everything is perfect. We have Thor- I love when Thranduil reigns his temper when he sees Oropher's heirlooms and Melian's brooch, his reflections about gathered treasure or when young Brand tries to lecture him forgetting that the king SAW the past not heard about it. Thranduil is wonderfully developed as a character. It was good to see Tauriel and can't wait to read more about her. I loved when she mentioned how proud she was following the king banner and that it was sort of addictive to fight battles with him. I am really looking forward to the next chapter!!!! Smaug will come soon and it will be so exciting to follow this tread. Thank you so much for your time and effort to write this stunning story and for sharing with us!!!!!!! | Wonderfully written political background!!! It is interesting to see who was against to invite Thranduil into the council. The king is breathtaking as usual!!! Love when he summerises the background saying that High Lords are happy with his efforts but not willing to do something more. Characters are great- I really don't like wizards:) they are so arrogant and forget about respect to their host. Tauriel is just awesome!!! Can't wait to see more about her. This story enchants from the very first word.I adore everything and can't say enough good things about it. This story never disappoints and I am looking forward to to seeing crawling Mithrandir to say sorry to Thranduil. Stay safe!!! Author Reply: Thanks! | Conquistadora!! I am loving the increasing frequency of your updates! This makes me VERY happy! Thranduil is so slighted by the other great Elven lords. They are so shortsighted. His anger is completely justified. Elven arrogance once again on display!! I'm loving your interpretation of Tauriel and I look forward to more! I can feel Thranduil weariness and yet he soldiers on! | Conquistadora! Merry Christmas! Thank you for the lovely present of a new chapter of this epic and enthralling story. The title told me that the chapter was not going to end in sweetness and light! ;-) Poor Thranduil, destined not to take his leave of Middle Earth. But I am glad he has had a four hundred year respite from Sauron's machinations. Lindoriel will most definitely understand. Tauriel, a coincidence of naming or is this Tauriel of Hobbit film name? | I don't know how you are doing it but each chapter leaves me mesmerized and thinking about next update!!!! Now Thranduil definitely will not sail to Valinor when Sauron attacked once more. I think that even Thranduil knows that he will not be happy in the Middle Earth his sense of duty will not allow him to leave. I l suspect that most of his people will have to leave with him or he will always think he abandoned his duties. I wonder how it will be dealt with in the future when we know that Legolas will not be his heir. Of course others can replace him but I think he would feel as if he failed. It was wonderful that he managed to save Tauriel and I can't wait to find out more about her. I know that she will be completely different than Tauriel in movies :).Thank you so much for posting this chapter in Christmas time!!! I am so grateful you managed to find some time for writing. | It is so sad that Thranduil wants to sail but on the other hand it is understandable. Love your idea that he will sail in the future and not fade in Greenwood. I wonder if Legolas will find peace in the Middle Earth or perhaps when he sails too. Compelling richly developed characters, spectacular world-building!!! This story grabbed me and wouldn't let me go! It is amazingly addictive and I love rereading chapters just to enjoy once more this great adventure. Stay safe!!!! | |

| Conquistadora!!! I cannot tell you the joy I feel whenever I see you have updated either of your Thranduil stories, this one most of all. It is just a world that is so well rendered I feel as if I am once again visiting an old friend! It is good to see the Greenwood happy and prosperous. A lovely respite. But as you write Thranduil has sacrificed so much of himself and he just wants to be whole again. Lindóriel's possessions kept for her as if she were to return from a long trip was especially moving. Of course Thranduil is now pondering the ship to the unknown West where she awaits him. The emeralds! Ah yes! memories. Thranduil sleeping with them clenched my heart. But I suspect that something will happen to keep him here in Middle Earth. *sigh* Poor Thranduil. Thank you so much for this story. I remember you said that you had a move and a newborn coming after the last chapter posted. Did the move go well and how is the new bundle of joy!
