| Well I am glad to know that other peaple's handiwork looks bad on the backside, I thought I was just a messy person. Glad that the innkeeper made Elessar laugh. | Oh Allee... this is Beautiful! Such a simple man that innkeeper, but boy, he sure knows what to say.....and he should be proud of himself!! Thank you for mentioning Arwen..and for her to be mentioned in such a way...this was just lovely. | This was just beautiful and very thought provoking.I often wonder if our lives are like tapestries from the back but making sense when viewed from the other side. I’m nosy, but I at least have the good sense to realize when a man speaks for no ears but his own. What a perceptive man. I'm really enjoying the glimpses you give us of the Innkeeper and his King. | Yes, this innkeeper is very perceptive indeed! I know how odd the backsides of some of my crochet projects get when I'm changing colors; and this idea of the tangles on the backside of Arwen's tapestries hits home. Indeed, part of the song, one that adds to the total meaning. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. I once made my mother a cross-stitch of a lighthouse; it was my first one, and when I started seeing all that mess accumulating on the back, I thought it was going to turn out a mess! | How wonderful to find a new chapter of this lovely tale! I do love your wise Innkeeper--he and the King have much more in common than they realize, with their devotion to their faithful wives, and their sense of what is right and due. | Cold, and then there is cold. Give me a warm day anyday. I like how Carabdol has found himself something to take care of, and to worry over. And that he has Aragorn to ask questions of. Author Reply: I confess: I live in Florida, where I'm currently complaining--as I do every summer--about how unbearably hot it is, so I know little about how bitterly cold real winters can be; cold to me is in the 50s farenheit. I am a self-proclaimed weather wimp. I do know this, however: King Elessar (et al) are in the midst of some really bitter weather, even by non-Floridian standards! And yes, it does help that Carandol has found something to take care of (or rather, it helps that Aragorn *assigned* Carandol something to care for. Wise man, that Elessar!).
