Gosh, these are so great. The Innkeeper reminds me of Sam, or the Gaffer -- someone who sees with a simple eye and heart, but a very wise one. Author Reply: Thank you. Yep, you're right--the innkeeper is a bit like Sam: a simple, but wise, heart. I'm glad you're enjoying these! Allee

I had a great time reading these four chapters of your story. You have made your innkeeper come alive. Love how he is learning about the new king. Author Reply: Thank you, and I'm glad you're enjoying the innkeeper. I have a new innkeeper vignette written, and I will post it very soon--just making some final revisions. Thanks for taking the time to leave your comments. Allee

These are lovely little vignettes! I love your Innkeeper's voice. He's clearly a man who keeps his eyes open and his wits about him, and he's not afraid to let go of pre-concieved notions! Wonderful character, and lovely seeing Aragorn through his eyes! Author Reply: Thank you. I'm so glad you're enjoying these vignettes; they're a ball to write! You have quite a good take on the innkeeper. He certainly does keep his wits about him, and I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing Aragorn through his eyes. Allee

Yes, a king worth following, and one filled with the light of stars. Author Reply: What a lovely what to put it--a king "filled with the light of the stars." Most definitely a king worth following! Allee

Yes, our beloved King would indeed have a gentle touch, I'm certain. Well done! Author Reply: Thank you. A gentle touch, yes. Not to mention the ability to command others with merely a certain look. Allee

Excellent insights here! Yes, ruling is often a thankless job. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. Ugghh--a thankless job indeed! Not one that I would want, and the innkeeper is quickly learning that it's not one that he'd want, either. Allee

Yes--the new King of Gondor's habit of smoking a pipe would indeed be likely to corrupt all of Gondor, wouldn't it? Love the innkeeper deciding this King is indeed far different from his predecessor. Author Reply: I'm glad you agree that pipe-smoking was bound to come to Gondor when Elessar did. I wanted to stick to canon, but I just can't imagine that Aragorn wouldn't have brought certain habits with him, and those habits had to have influenced the public! Allee

Guess it’s just as exhausting being a king as it is being an innkeeper. I reckon those satin sheets and big beds don’t do a man much good if he never gets to lie on them. What a marvelous insight. :D Author Reply: Thanks! Yes, the innkeeper is prone to moments of wonderful insight! Allee
