Children of Iluvatar  by Antane 72 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 5 on 2/10/2007
Neither Frodo nor Sam, nor Aragorn is alone. Iluvatar sent Sam to represent himself to Frodo, and knew Aragorn was already awake and aware, and ready for whatever might befall him.

Author Reply: Indeed. Very nicely said. God may not have revealed Himself to the hobbits but He was very much there.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Another terrific look at Elrond's thoughts as Frodo is on his journey. I like how you added the iaun in as well. :D

Author Reply: Hannon le, my dear! This is the story I'm least sure of in whether it's realistic so I'm glad that I have all these kind reviews to show that I'm wrong. :)

Aw *happy sigh* I am glad that you have updated this Antane. Elrond may not think that he can guard Frodo's Fea, (chapter 1,) but he is obviously being allowed to, albeit from a distance.

Author Reply: Hannon le, dear harrowcat. Sorry it's taking so long to update. I'm doing bits and pieces as I came across them as I'm re-reading the tale for Via so it'll be another long while but it'll be coming.

This is beautiful. I love this line especially, " I wish I could help you, my brother, but since I cannot, may you feel the Arms you are wrapped in, stronger than mine could ever be."

Author Reply: Hannon le! I so appreciate your kind words!

Oh, Antane, you don't know how much I love these! This one especially! I want to cry. So interesting that Elrond calls Frodo brother. This is encouraging, though I don't know why. Hantanyel, meldanya.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Hantanyel right back, ammelda! :) So glad you are enjoying!

A lovely series. We can never have too much Elrond -- JRRT shows us so few glimpses of him.

Author Reply: Hannon le! I appreciate your support!

Yes, the one to go all the way would be obvious, I think. And he sees the determination for all to do as they can, which is all any can ask of another.

The words of Elrond here are among the wisest spoken in the entire book, the advice not to seek to stand in the dark before one has seen the darkness fall.

And the others will not turn away until Frodo lets go their hands to walk alone as he must--save, of course, for Sam's continued presence.

Author Reply: I love the way you said about Frodo holding onto all those hands and then having to let go. So must we all at some time or another.

I hadn't thought about Elrond as yet another one who watches over Frodo from afar but this chapter makes it obvious that he is also part of the Fellowship in his own way.

Clean and simple and spare, nicely done. The quotes from the book mesh well with your own writing. Sweet!
