Children of Iluvatar  by Antane 72 Review(s)
ElemmírëReviewed Chapter: 3 on 11/4/2006
I' glad to see you continuing this one Antane!

Sometimes the smallest are the greatest, in service, love and humility. I am honored, Ada, that you have shown me these. They are wonders to behold.

That was such a lovely and heartfelt 'conversation' between Elrond and Iluvatar.
Elrond was truly meant to encounter these particular hobbits and his life will be all the more enriched because of them.

~Elemmírë~

p.s. Thank you so very much for pointing me back in the direction of 'A Hobbiton Halloween' I LOVE the addition of Gandalf to the tale. Somehow I find that Gandalf and sweets always go together very well ... and combined with wee Sam and young Frodo ... *sighs in content*. LOL! Anyway, I really enjoyed the additions you made. :D

Author Reply: Hannon le, my dear! Glad you enjoyed both tales! The Gandalf part came to me on the way home from work and I just had to put it in - better than waiting until next Halloween. :) It was a lot of fun to do. Now if I can just figure out how to continue Love Endures...

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

These chapters are great Antane. And I love the final prayer.

Author Reply: Hannon le, my dear! I love that prayer also.

Indeed the one prayer that will in the end mean the most to both Frodo and Sam, and that will bring them the most heart and peace along the way. I am glad he utters it here.

Author Reply: We all need prayers, don't we? :) Hannon le for reviewing. It'll be continuing soon.

Beautiful weaving of the original text into this short view of our two protagonists.

I read this first earlier in the day when I was rushed. I read it now more at leisure.

This is your most powerful writing to date, and indicates how much you are maturing both as an individual and as a writer. It is emotionally satisfying without being maudlin, and a wonderful point of view for these thoughts.

I very much love the dialogue between Elrond and Eru.

Author Reply: Hannon le, my dear Larner! This is high praise indeed and very much appreciated! :)

"The journey will be very dark."

"And filled with light."

You've said so much in these few words. This is a truly beautiful story.

Author Reply: Hannon le! Glad you enjoyed! More to come... :)

This is beautiful. I love the spiritual aspect of this tale.

"Though he knows not what he saw, I have already sent him a dream of what his reward for all his labors will be." This line particularly appealed to me. It explains so well the dream Frodo experienced at Tom Bombadil's. I have never much cared for that part of the book, but your story has made me rethink Frodo's dream.

I am so glad that Elrond sees not only Frodo's light, but Sam's as well.

Frodo's determination is wonderful! To think that a small hobbit could teach a mighty Elf-lord like this is great!
God bless,
Ellie

Author Reply: I've learned so much from him myself! Hannon le, my dear!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
