This is wonderful! You had me laughing out loud.

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it. It's an odd look at the Quest but it is revealing. hehehe

You KNOW how much I love this one. So very glad it's now part of the archive here! Heh! Wonderful, GW.

Author Reply: I sent it over and let the mod on the site approve it before posting it here. she didn't find it objectionable as far as 'too risky to post' and gave it the ok so here it is. I claim this one as one of my few "On the Quest" fictions until recently and so I did think it belonged with the others. Thanks for reviewing it again.

"I had best try to lower the flag of the Tooklands before Tom returns," Pippin stood and keeping his back to all of them, walked awkwardly off towards the field.

ROTFL!!!

Well, I think your "symbolic flag" is very funny!

Why did Frodo ask about the castor oil, I wonder. Only for Pippin's sake? He's not *that* old. Unfortunately, Tom Bombadil arrived - too early, if you ask me ;-)

Thank you, G.W., for this funny little story (and there was no sheep in it)!

Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed it. As to what Frodo might have wanted to do with the castor oil, one can only imagine. He may have wanted it for Pip and then he may also have wanted to know if Sam had ever used it before for this sort of thing. hehehe I had to let Tom come back at some point, didn't I? : )

No sheep but maybe if I try really hard I can work sheep into the Quest fictions somewhere. You know if I can, I will.

You gave me my laughter for the day! Can't wait for the next installment. *giggling*

Author Reply: I love being the bringer of laughter. Hope you had a great day! Keep smiling.

LOL, I don't know how you do it, except with sheer talent, but your comic tales are always hilarious! Oh, the come-backs from Merry to Pippin in this one were *priceless*!

Pippin said smugly. "He makes this little snuffing sound just at the end of his snores as if someone is pinching his nose shut."

"I am considering pinching your mouth shut," Merry muttered.

I just love the Merry & Pippin banter, and trailing it by a hair's breadth is Frodo & Merry banter.

And all of the ruckus over snoring! Only you could take such a minor thing and have your hobbits blow it up and make something major out of it. Just fabulour and absolutley funny, GW!

Author Reply: Thank you! Whenever I write them Merry and Pippin seem to come off as a stand-up team at times. hehehe

So very glad you enjoyed this. I will be calling you before long so we can set up something. Maybe the weather will cooperate.

Tattoo!

How diplomatic of Legolas! What a clever way to weasel his way out of saying who was actually snoring. LOL

MEWD, GW!!

Author Reply: Elves have had years to perfect their diplomatic skills. hehehe In this case I do think Legolas was very grateful for that. Thanks for the lovely review!

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 3 on 1/27/2008
Ah--so Legolas was being as diplomatic as possible while protecting himself from Gandalf's possible ire; and Frodo was willing to sacrifice his own dignity to stop the discussion. Bless both Elf and eldest Hobbit! Wonderful!

Author Reply: Yes, the Elf and the eldest Hobbit had to work very hard in the face of all of the madness they were traveling with. Makes you wonder if perhaps Lord Elrond should have just sent Frodo, Sam and Legolas on the Quest. Maybe nine was too many?

*giggle* I remember this from LJ! Did I tell you how much I loved Legolas being so "diplomatic"? You have such a way with banter! I also loved Merry's stubbornness, and Frodo's attempt to take the blame--which would have been fine if it had worked, but Merry just wouldn't take the hint! LOL!

Author Reply: Merry was determined that someone own up to having cost him a night's sleep. Good thing Legolas was able to take care of things. Glad you enjoyed it!

*snicker* They're always arguing about something, aren't they? Legolas was very diplomatic about that all. And Merry did snore, too? What was the saying about glasshouses and throwing stones? ;-)

Thanks for the laugh!

Author Reply: Our own snoring never seems to be a problem does it? LOL I guess Merry was fine with his own nightly noises but not too keen on the snores of others. As one of the firstborn, Legolas must have had some very trying times while traveling among mortals. Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
