Poor Sam, I am sure he felt terrible when he had to get into the boat. Oh well, Pippin had his foot in his mouth most of the time, but at least his chatter distracted the others and brightened the mood. Though now I'm wondering why Boromir didn't throw him out of the boat somewhere along the Anduin because he talked too much ;-) Author Reply: I think Boromir might have chucked Pippin in the drink if his mind hadn't been on that pesky Ring at the time. Sam really does show his courage and his loyalty to Frodo by even getting into the boats. That's why I love that scene in the film where Sam wades into the water determined not to let Frodo leave without him.

*ROFL* That's the best disclaimer I've ever seen! And I completely agree with the Hobbits, and particularly Pippin. Sometimes one has to wonder about all this! Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Lately I've been doing what I can to make my prologues entertaining. It's fun to try to come up with new twists for them. Like Pippin and yourself, I wonder about it all too. hehehe

I this one beats all, lol! LOVED IT! You know...I sometimes wonder about it all just like Pippin. You are so wonderfully creative with your disclaimers! Gotta get ready for work now but will be back for more later! Author Reply: So, this is the winner? Glad you enjoyed it. The prologues are developing a life of their own. If you feed them with reviews then they grow! Next one will probably be the length of a novel. Don't work too hard!

As Sam’s old Gaffer always said there’s nothin’ like a good laugh to chase off your worries. And the Gaffer is right, as always! It's amazing how Pippin always manages to cheer others up, even if it was not his major intention to do so ;-) Sam's voice and thoughts are well done here. That's our Sam! Thank you, G.W.! Author Reply: Pippin is such a cheerful hobbit and he does mean well. I think that because the others know him so well they can overlook much. I do think the Gaffer was always right. I find him easier to write than Sam and so I am thrilled that you enjoyed Sam in this! He is the most difficult for me to write. Thank you for reveiwing!

Pippin: "Do you suppose Bilbo or Frodo had to write a disclaimer for 'The Red Book of The Westmarch'?" Merry: "Why would they?" Pippin: "I've read some of it and don't tell anyone that I told you this but both Bilbo and Frodo used JRR Tolkien's characters too." ROTFL!!! Brilliant, G.W.! Alas for all those poor people who just skip the disclaimer ;-) Author Reply: Lots of folks stopped by to read the disclaimer this time. In fact, I think it has more reviews than the story! But I always have done things backwards. hehehe Thank you for reviewing and for using the word Brilliant which I love!

Bless Pippin even when he does put his foot in it. This is so apropos, and wonderful! Author Reply: Thank you! This is another of Shirebound's ideas. Glad you approve!

Gads--the ending has me laughing! Good grief--Frodo and Bilbo borrowed from Tolkien, did they? Hehehehehehehehehe! Author Reply: They did! I read some of it and Pippin is right. All of Tolkien's best characters are in The Red Book of The Westmarch. Thanks for reviewing the prologue.
