Elf, Interrupted: Book Two: Glorfindel's Quest  by Fiondil 18 Review(s)

Oh dear. Things can't ever just be peaceful or simple for those two, can they? I hope they find the missing maiar and that Olorin is innocent! Great chapter.

Author Reply: Thanks, NiRi. I'm glad you liked this chapter. With Finrod and Glorfindel... to quote from another source entirely, "the crack of dawn ain't safe around them two" *lol*

I find myself wondering about motivations, particularly as Olorin is involved. He isn't usually destructive in his actions, although he admitted to Bilbo he wasn't beyond manipulating others for his own amusement, although he usually has good reasons to choose those he would manipulate, for their own good and that they can do for others as well as for his personal amusement.

Author Reply: What Olórin's motivation and purpose in all this will be revealed shortly. There's more to this particular Maia than meets the eye... even the eyes of the Valar, I think.

You know, last night I had this dream about there being a new chapter up. SO i got up this morning, logged on to my email, saw the alert, and was ( understandably) freakishly happy. LOL. This is considerably better than what I had imagined was going to happen.

Wonderful chapter, loved the AngryNamo... Not that I would want to be, you know, in the same galaxy as him whn he's like that, but whatever. As I just said...er, typed, loved the chapter and, as usual, can't wait for more. :D.

~GF

Author Reply: Thanks GF... I'm glad your dream came true *lol* and that you really liked this chapter. I'm with you... I really would not want to be in the same galaxy as Námo when he is not a happy camper. Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Lisselinde and Olorin are *definitely* doomed, meldonya!!! *shudder* I wonder where they're hiding? Particularly Lisselinde...

~Kaylee!!

Author Reply: Not sure if they're doomed, but they are in a heap of trouble. We'll see soon what the outcome it all this is.

Oh, oh, now what's going on? Something tells me that Lissilinde is not the sweet, innocent little Maia she appears to be and I am surprised that Olorin is going along with her, or is he just keeping track of her? Plots within plots, hm?
Linderelle's reaction seems to be a little extreme, but she is young, and nearly fading like she did has made her emotionally vulnerable, plus she seems to have a crush on Finrod, Ah, puppy love!
Let's hope Glorfindel and Celephern can get over their differances and become friends.
I think I would be running for cover, with Namo on the warpath, not a Vala I would want to cross!
More please,
Lynda

Author Reply: I think we will find that Lisselindë is more misguided than anything and not very savvy about the Children, nor understanding how they think. She has misinterpreted motives and has acted accordingly. As for Olórin's role in all this.... that will be shown as well.

As Irmo states, Lindorillë's reaction is understandable given the recent situation with her. She is reading the letter as a personal rejection of her by Finrod rather than seeing it for what it truly is... a commendation on how pleased Finrod is with all of their progress.

Ooh I wouldn't want to be in Lisselinde's shoes! (? Does she even wear shoes?)
Sounds like that one puch was the start of the fight of the age! Poor trees!

Author Reply: Not sure if any of the Maiar wears shoes. *lol* At any rate, things are not looking well for Lisselindë or the two elves. We'll see what happens to everyone soon enough, though.

Olorin always seem to be a good guy, not really expecting that he helped in the incident. Shocking revelation!

Author Reply: We will learn more about Olórin's motives in all this in subsequent chapters. He is still a 'good guy', never fear.

Ouch. Was only to be expected that Glorfindel and Finrod ended up fighting, I guess, but that even the Warrior Maiar weren't able to separate them and Námo and Irmo had to take action ... they are really suffering more than was obvious from their earlier experience in the tenth dimension.

Wow, these two certainly did make a good job of destroying the grove! *shakes head* That destruction sounds really bad.

*raises brow* Lisselindë was it who interrupted Finrod when he was about to destroy the letter? And then made Lindorillë find it? That's interesting. Only I doubt Námo will be pleased with her for causing this mess in the first place - for under these circumstances, I think Lisselindë is to blame entirely for all that. And I get the distinct feeling that Námo's thinking along the same lines. That now the other Maiar are set to search for her and Olórin doesn't bode well for them. It would better for them *not* to hide ...

Now you have me really worried what will happen - and if Lórien will survive this events unscathed ;-(

Author Reply: Finrod and Glorfindel are very powerful elves considering whom they went against in their final battles. And their recent experiences have not helped.

I don't think any of the Valar are going to be pleased with Lisselindë when they catch up with her. *grin* We will see what happens to her and to Lórien soon enough.

Thanks for reviewing, Kitty. I really appreciate it.
