Glorfindel, poor ellon is just beginning his Mid Summer Mopes and he is still Moping thousands of years later. It is so hard to let go of the past, and it only takes a small thing to remind you. Hang in there Glorfi, it will get better.Friends are good people to have around you at times like these.
More please,

Author Reply: I don't think that Glorfindel moped every Mid-summer while living in Aman, but I think that when he sailed to Middle-earth, and obviously sailing over drowned Beleriand to reach Lindon and the Grey Havens, the reality of it must have hit him hard. It would be one thing to know intellectually (because he wasn't present when it happened) that Beleriand (and therefore Gondolin) was no more, it would be another thing to see the evidence for himself as he sails across what should have been dry land. So, when he came to Middle-earth, all that came back with a vengeance. I'm sure with the help of Erestor and Elrond and the sympathetic support of Gil-galad and Cirdan, that he was able to put his 'moping' aside after awhile and go on with his (new) life.
