Bravo! And again I say, Bravo!

Magnificent story. I'm so glad I started reading I and II again.... just finished two nights ago with II and was delighted to find the ending.

Bless you for taking us along on this wondrous ride with Glorfindel and Finrod and Sador and all those wonderful Elves that inhabit the Valar's little homestead.

Beautifully written!

Author Reply: Hello Agape. Bless you for reading (and re-reading) this from the very beginning and thank you for your lovely reviews. I am so happy that you enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Thanks for being such a supportive friend. I really appreciate it very much.

So the time has come for Glorfindel to go to Middle-Earth and to part from his family. I hoped we would get a bit about Finrods wedding and so on. Though I liked the scene when he meets Elrond for the first time.

I wonder if Eonwe recorded the oaths at the sword-changing-scene.

Author Reply: We will see Finrod's wedding and other such tales in separate one-shots and short multi-chapter stories, Hel. Just couldn't fit everything into this one. I'm pretty sure Eönwë realized that those particular oaths needn't be recorded. *grin* I'm glad you liked the final scene. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks also for reading this story, Hel, and for all your reviews. I appreciate you taking the time to write them very muc.

Well I just checked on here to see if there was anything to read and discovered that you had posted a day early :) I am going to miss these Glorfindel stories - ever since I found this one partway through I have read the new chapters as soon as I have been able to. I love your characterisations and have laughed and cried and everything else as the story has progressed. EI Part 1 is on my e-reader and this will be going on so I can read the whole story through again.

Now looking forward to your Darkening story and also to hopefully more snippets from the EI universe as the muse allows. I want to hear about Finrod & Amarie's wedding - and also peek in on Sador as Cano - oh and see how Olwen & Ingwion's wedding. Ok I just want more stories from this universe as I have become very attached to it over the last year or so.

Author Reply: Yeah, I ended up posting this last chapter early, although I will be posting the Character List and an Appendix tomorrow to complete the story. I have been re-reading the entire Elf, Interrupted story myself from the very beginning and making some minor (and sometimes not so minor) corrections in the text. I am now in the middle of the second book and plan to finish with the editing by Labor Day. You may want to reload Elf 1 onto your e-reader so you have the latest version. If you wait until after Labor Day to do it, both books will be ready.

I hope to have some additional stories from the EI universe, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading the Darkening story when I begin posting it later this month.

Thanks again for reading and reviewing this very long epic, Arwen. I've enjoyed your reviews and look forward to hearing from you again.

Well, it's over now. I have been following this for a while (somewhere from the latter half of the second part, most likely from the moment Glorfindel met that maia and his dog in the coastline) without leaving a single review, so it's best to leave it now!

Thank you for this great (and a very long) story! I liked following Glorfindel through all this, the council was interesting and the interactions between the elves were enjoyable. At first, there were so many OCs that it was difficult to follow, but reading most of the first EI helped somewhat :). You know, this story is a little addictive, after reading a couple of chapters you just have to read more and keep waiting for the new chapters... not that I'm complaining about it!

It's very difficult to comment everything in one review. The story was simply great. However, wouldn't it be nice to see the meeting between Glorfindel and Elrond from Glorfindel's perspective, perhaps in Vairë's loom? I'm looking forward to the possible new stories, and thank you for writing this one.

Author Reply: Hi someone. I'm glad you are able to leave this review for the end of the story. Thank you for reading this story and reviewing when you were able to. I appreciate it very much. I am glad you found this a great story (and it was way longer than I ever anticipated myself *grin*). As for possible new stories about Glorfindel, I am certainly hoping that there will be, but as to what they will be about, it remains to be seen. At any rate, thanks again for reading and reviewing. I look forward to hearing from you again with my future stories.

Ah--finally back in Middle Earth--although I note we DIDN'T get to see Finrod's wedding! Sob!

Author Reply: Yes, back in Middle-earth. Not to worry, Larner. I do plan to write a companion piece, probably a short multi-chapter story, about Finrod's wedding. There just wasn't enough chapters here to do it justice. Can't guarantee when it will be written, but perhaps we'll see something before the end of the year. Thanks for all your reivews. I appreciate you taking the time to send them.

Sorry about not reviewing for a few days – the chapters have merited reviews, but I haven’t really been up to it. A piece of advice for you, Fiondil: Avoid getting an ear infection – they are painful and uncomfortable, and when your ear gets better, your stomach will act up because of the antibiotics!

So now it is all over. I am feeling quite sniffly about that. It has been a long and sometimes chaotic journey along with Glorfy and his friends, including the Valar and Maiar (especially the sorely tried Námo).

In Reunions part 2 I wasn’t really all that surprised at some of the characters being reunited with newly Reborn kin – the real surprise there was who the reborn were. And young Irmondil is of course cute as a button!

The Rainbow Bridge – I suppose you sto... ahem, borrowed that from Norse mythology? ;-)

So now Finrod has to say goodbye to Glorfindel for a long time – but I am certain his many other Reborn friends will rally round and prevent him from moping too much. And hopefully Tirion will still be standing when they have done so. And speaking of damage, I found the descriptions of the safety precautions when Finrod was tutoring Glorfindel in using Songs of Power quite amusing. BTW, did Glorfy follow Finrod’s advice about packing?

I definitely liked Glorfindel’s answer to Námo’s query of whether he was ready. :-)

I wonder if anybody has the temerity to actually ask Glorfindel “Are you _that_ Glorfindel – the Balrog Slayer?” after he arrived in Lindon? And it would be quite ... interesting, shall we say? to see Gil-Galad’s reaction to the arrival of a legend on his doorstep. And I suspect a number of jaws will hit the floor as that news spreads. :-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Sorry to hear about the ear infection. I hope you're feeling better now.

I know a lot of people are feeling a bit sniffly now that this epic is over. But at least you know there are other stories to look forward to, especially the Darkening story.

I am glad you liked this chapter, especially little Irmondil and Glorfindel's answer to Námo's query. I'm sure that all of Finrod's friends and family got together and made sure that he was not moping for long. Whether Tirion (or any other part of Aman) survived is another matter. *grin*

It would be interesting to write about Gil-galad's reaction to Glorfindel's arrival and how Glorfindel deals with the incessant questions about Gondolin and the Balrog. Perhaps I'll write something about that for Vairë's Loom sometime. *grin*

Thanks so much for all your lovely and thoughtful reviews and the support and advice that you have given me throughout. It has been very much appreciated and words cannot adequately express my gratitude for all that you've done for me.

awww, is it finished now?
are you going to do another one, please!!!

Author Reply: Hello, Caunedheil. Other than to post an Appendix and the Character List, which I will do on Friday, yes, I'm afraid this story is finished. And while I have no plans to do EI-3, I do plan on writing other stories from the Elf, Interrupted universe, such as Finrod's wedding, so you have that to look forward to. And of course, I will begin posting my long-awaited Darkening story before the end of the month. *grin* I am glad you have enjoyed this long epic. Thanks for reading and letting me know. I appreciate it very much.

ShemyazaReviewed Chapter: 149 on 8/19/2010
Awww...you little tinker Arthur, how dare you make me have tears in my eyes over my breakfast? You should take me tearing up as a huge compliment. Very few stories either original or fanfiction have had the power to do that.

I know you probably have other things on the drawing board, but I sincerely hope that we have not seen the last of the Adventures of Glorfindel. The Glorfindel in my stories owes a lot of his character and personality to yours.

I am so sad now that this lovely story has come to an end of sort. You do realise that if you don't expand on Glorfindel in Middle-earth I am going to hunt you down and give you the same fate that namo threatened Glorfindel with!

Author Reply: Tears at breakfast, Shemyaza! You old softy, you. *LOL* I am highly complimented and I thank you.

I do intend to continue writing about Glorfindel and the others, and perhaps I will even write about Glorfindel in Middle-earth, though not necessarily in any major epic story, but one never knows what the Muse has in store for one, so you never know. I do think I want to write Glorfindel/Elrond friendship stories, showing how their relationshhip developed over time and how, perhaps, that friendship might have sometimes conflicted (in Glorfindel's mind) with Glorfindel's oath to Eärendil to protect and guard Elrond and his family. I'm sure there must have been such times between them.

And as for your threat.... as Glorfindel would say, "You have to catch me first!" *LOL*

Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I look forward to reading your comments to my Darkening story whenever you have the chance to leave a review.

Oh what a lovely surprise, I was expecting to wait another two days for this.
But, but, sniff, sniff it can't be over, no, no, I want more Glorfi, I miss him already! I know, I know, hang in there your Muse will come up with something eventually! (Darn Cliffee King Muse grumble, grumble!)
Looking forward to your Darkening tale and the others you promised.
Somewhat soggy Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: It wasn't intentional, Lynda. I accidently clicked on 'publish' for this chapter when I thought I was clicking on 'preview' for the previous chapter. *grin* Decided it wasn't worth hiding and since the chapter was ready to be posted, I left it up. I will be posting the Character List on Friday just to complete the entire thing. I'm just checking it over to make sure it's correct.

I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I know how much you will miss Glorfi and everyone else, but we'll see them again, I promise, in one form or another. And I think you will enjoy Darkening. I'm afraid Glorfindel only has a cameo role in that story, but you will be seeing a lot of Finrod and Ingwion and much more of the three High Kings, Ingwë, Arafinwë and Olwë. That will hopefully satisfy many of my readers who are fans of these characters. *grin*

Thanks again for all your lovely reviews and for being another set of sharp eyes and pointing out the odd typo that I had missed. I really appreciate your support and I look forward to reading your reviews of the Darkening story.

Atar Fiondil,

So it's the last chapter, except for the character list. I can hardly believe that EI is over...a rush of various emotions has been hitting me since I read the chapter this morning. I'm glad to see almost all the loose ends tied up; I think my favorite new character was Irmondil. He's so cute! I wonder what Veryandur would think of him?

(Random thought, I know!)

Of course, I loved Namo...don't I always? I think, though, my most favorite part of the chapter was Elrond, going out there every day and just *waiting* for something.

Tar-Ancalime...first Ruling Queen. Interesting. I don't know all that much about her, so I'm wondering if you'll write any more concerning her? Hmm...she doesn't sound like the nicest sort, but from what I read of her, she sounded rather proud and overbearing, so that seems quite accurate. Is the split between Elves and Edain already beginning, then? That's sad. :(

Mail from Elrond's Ada and Nana! Too bad it didn't come by Vingilot! Oh well, it might have part way? (I was just rereading "Starship", and have mail-by-Vingilot on the brain.)

Aha, and there's my next favorite Istari after Olorin! *grin* Of course, you know what *I* say happened to them. Insanity, but now I just can't help liking that scenario. *grin*

(In fact, I had Domino's last night, and I'm having leftovers for lunch. Chicken and olive? *offers to Atar Fiondil*)

"Metta", indeed, but now I have the Character List, and Vaire's Loom, and the Darkening to look forward to. So though I'm sad to see this end, I'm sure it hasn't *really* ended. Glorfi will be back.

(How could he not be back, since it's you, Atar Fiondil? *grin* And you love Glorfi.)

Hmm, I wonder if my reviews are changing any, when I have enough to say. They certainly seem to be different from my earliest reviews. (Well, for one, at first you weren't Atar Fiondil, and now you are :D) Am I still as bad as Glorfindel? *snicker*

Tye-melin and Eru bless,

Kaylee

*yelde indonyo to Atar Fiondil*

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I think your reviews have changed over time simply because you have, maturing into a young responsible woman. You have, after all, graduated from college. *grin*

Yes, Tar-Ancalimë reversed many of her father's policies concerning the elves. This I think can be safely seen as the beginning of Númenor's eventual downfall. She was a very willful woman and had little love for her father, hence her own policies. However, it will be another 1300 or so years before Númenor is destroyed and I doubt that even the Valar are aware at this time of the island's eventual fate.

Anyway, I want to thank you for all your lovely reviews. I always look forward to them. Thanks for being such a devoted reader of my stories. I hope you enjoy my next epic. *grin*

Tye-melin and Eru bless,
Atar Fiondil
