I am sorry that I haven't been a very faithful reviewer but i have enjoyed every word of this tale and will miss the regular updates.

Thank you for introducing me to this part of Tolkien's world. I now really must put time aside to delve properlyinto the Silm etc.

Thanks again for many a happy hour of reading.

Author Reply: And thank you, harrowcat, for taking the time to read this story and review whenever you could. I appreciate it very much. And if you plan to delve properly into the Silmarillion, you should definitely read the chapters concerning Fëanor and the Silmarils in preparation for my soon-to-be posted Darkening story. And there will be regular, twice-a-week updates of the Darkening story, so you still have something to look forward to. *grin*

*grin* Wise of Manwë to make sure Ossë is not overdoing the storm. Glorfindel would most certainly *not* appreciate it if he did!

The lessons in Songs of Power were certainly a surprise, though I'm the first one to admit that Glorfindel needs to learn how to control his own power. We can't have him ending up in another dimension every time, after all! Though the security measures left me snickering and wondering if during the chase at the Ford of Bruinen in TA 3018 unclad Maiar were standing by to make sure he's not messing up? *grin*

Nice touch with the swords, and it explains why Glorfindel didn't have Aranna with him in the other story. And I like it how you had Elrond feeling that something was afoot and waiting at the berth for so long, as well as this first meeting between Glorfindel and Elrond. It will be great for Elrond to hear from the parents he never really knew, to know they are alive and well. And this will lay the foundation for a great friendship, no doubt.

And now I feel a bit sad, as this is the last chapter. I've only started reading this epic tale after 40 chapters were posted, but even so, it's been three and a half years during which I have been following the adventures of Glorfindel and his friends, and it has been a great ride. Though I have no doubt that I will enjoy the Darkening story and whatever you are going to post in the future, I will still miss this one and re-read it in its entirety as soon as I have time. So I think it's a great idea to post a few EI oneshots or short multi-chapter stories like the 'Diaries' with more snippets of the lifes of Glorfindel and the others when the muse cooperates; it would cut down on the withdrawal symptoms, and I'm sure I'd not be the only reader to appreciate it.

Anyway, thank you so very much for taking the time to write this wonderful, long story, for sharing it with us, for giving us such a wonderful universe to play in. I can't even begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed it and how much I appreciate all your hard work on this. You've not only brought many canon characters close to my heart, but many of your OC's as well, and I'm really going to miss them all without my weekly fix. Again, thank you!

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Yes, Manwë doesn't need a seasick Glorfindel makes a mess on the floor. He'd never hear the end of it from Varda. *LOL*

I wouldn't be at all surprise if there weren't a few Maiar around keeping tabs on Glorfindel, but perhaps not. Perhaps Manwë just decided that for better or worse Glorfindel was on his own and would have to find his own way.

Glad you liked the scene with the swords. There is an upcoming Loom story where this particular sword is mentioned by Glorfindel. As for Elrond, I suspect that Someone was inspiring him to come to the harbor to wait for Glorfindel's arrival, though he was unaware of why. And we know that these two will be good friends as well as lord and devoted vassal.

I know a lot of people are feeling the same as you, Kitty, and I appreciate all your kind reviews and your support over these past few years. It has meant a great deal to me. I do indeed plan to write some EI one-shots and short multi-chapters but I hope until I get around to writing them you will enjoy the Darkening chapter where we will see many of the EI characters at a much younger and more innocent stage of their existence.

Thanks again for reading and reviewing.

Wonderful chapter in a series of wonderful stories. I love the last paragraph with Elrond feeling loved.

Thank you

Author Reply: Thanks utfrog. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review. I'm glad you loved the last paragraph. Thanks for letting me know.

And so it begins. The War of the Rings. Glorfindel's training will be much needed as will his friendship. I'm sure Elrond never expected to hear word from his parents, much less having Glorfindel as a friend and confidant. This had to be quite a shock for him.

Author Reply: So it begins, indeed, Tari, though the War of the Rings is another Age and a half a way. Elrond was very shocked, but it was a welcomed shock I am sure and we know that he and Glorfindel will become very good friends. Thanks for all your reviews. I've enjoyed reading each and every one of them.

Beautiful end! Perfect! Love the way that Glorfindel intruduced himself to Elrond. You can see the beginnig of a wonderful friendship. Lindon don't know what has hit them, better to get ready.

I wish I can say more, but I'm not a writer, only know that you are one of the best and one of my favorites writers.

Thank you very much for this wonderful tale. It has been a long ride and I enjoyed every word of it. Waiting for your new stories.

Thanks again

Fantasia

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. I'm so glad you liked how this story ends. And thank you for your kind compliment. I appreciate it and I appreciate all your reviews and words of support. It has indeed been a long ride, but there is more to come. I will be posting the first chapter (actually a Prologue) of my Darkening story on 30 August. Next week I will be posting a couple of Loom stories to keep everyone happy until Darkening gets posted. *grin*

I'll ignore my tears and the vaccuum that is calling my name very stridently, and merely say Le Hannon.

Another great morning. Thank you.

I'm glad that Finrod and Glorfindel had the time needed to come to terms with their separation. The "sword scene" was classic Namo & Glorfindel. Great!

Is this epilogue really the last chapter of Elf II, or will there be a bit more? The ending is perfect as is, with Elrond finally finding some peace again, but SoA still shows the tale as "in progress".

I've so enjoyed these stories. I've loved Elrond since I first met him in The Hobbit way back in the 60s, knowing little to nothing about him. Then Glorfindel came along in The Fellowship. There was even less about him. Elf I & II gave the reasons behind immediate appeal I felt for him, just as the (too few! hint, hint) stories of Elrond and his family did for that initial connection with Elrond.

So looking forward to The Darkening as well as the gap-fillers to come.

Author Reply: Hi Viresse. Thank you so much for your lovely review. This is actually the final chapter, but I will be posting a Character List on Friday, which is why the status is still "in progress". I'm going over the list to make sure I got everyone on it and the names are spelled correctly. *grin*

I am glad you have enjoyed "Elf, Interrupted". I began writing it because, like you, I fell in love with Glorfindel and wished he had had a larger role in LOTR. Tolkien's description of him in the Fellowship was just intriguing enough that I wanted to find out more about him, hence these stories.

I hope to write more stories about Glorfindel, both in Aman and with Elrond, but I cannot guarantee when they will appear. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the upcoming Darkening story. I'm very excited about it.

Thanks so much for all your reviews and faithfully reading "Elf, Interrupted". Words cannot express my gratitude.
