Just A Cold  by Aelaer 69 Review(s)

Poor Aragorn! I was amused at his dismay and chagrin at being recognised!
But I have to say, the peoples of Gondor & Arnor are very fortunate in their monarch...Aragorn showed great consideration for the innkeeper and his family, as well as much devotion to his people & their protection.

It would seem only fair, though, that the ruffians who were fighting bear some of the cost & labour of repairing the tavern. The whole thing was, after all, their fault.

Hope Aragorn feels better soon!

Hugs,

Author Reply: In the A/N of the fifth chapter I said I added some more to the story. Your review was one of those reviews that helped with an addition. (And what you said is very much the obvious- I was completely oblivious not to think of it before!)

Oh, and Aragorn is the only monarch I'd ever let myself be ruled under ;) They are very lucky.

Thank you again!

"I thought he would be more... well... kingly."

"But he was kingly, young man," Randir said with a grin. "He did what a leader is supposed to do- protect his people.

Exactly. Gosh, I hope Aragorn is soon tucked up in bed with tea and soup and healing-comfort! (Well, you know I always want that for everyone.) :)

Author Reply: And that is why the characters surely love you! I suppose it is nice to see them all tucked up in bed... afterwards ;) But there is a bed at the end!

I love this story! Love the action, the humor, the ultimate revelation that Strider is indeed Aragorn and the dialogue between characters is lovely~! I am eagerly awaiting how Aragorn feels the next morning. :p And Arwen's reaction would be interesting to read.
I cant' wait for more, dear Suvi!

Author Reply: Thank you, dear periantari! I know you are a hobbity person, so to see you enjoying this is more than I could ever ask for! :)

Alas--outed by his own guardsmen! Poor guy--all he wants is an evening now and then to relax and just be a person among persons rather than the King and lordly, whether or not he wishes to be particularly regal at the moment! Heh!

Author Reply: I know, poor him. I'm not nice to him whatsoever. He has a much nicer time in your stories, you know. But I like throwing Murphy's Law his way. *g*

Nah, I also rather doubt that this will do poor Aragorn's headache any good. Good strategy here, and love the Queen seeking to find where her errant husband has gotten to this time! Wonderful! Heh!

Author Reply: Well, thank you, Larner. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Uh oh...He and his friends aren't dead, but once the Guard gets there and they realize just who they've attacked...They're going to wish they were. I'm thinking assult of the King pays a rather high penalty in Minas Tirith?

What a situation Aragorn's gotten himself into, but he couldn't turn away either. Can't blame Arwen for wanting to hit him upside the head right now...

Hope to see the next chapter up soon!! :o)

Author Reply: No kidding, though, to their credit, they didn't know he *was* king... (am I trying to defend these guys? *blink*) They're lucky that Aragorn is a merciful king.

Ooooooooooh he's going to get it this time. I wouldn't like to be in Aragorn's boots. If I were Aragorn, I would start figuring out how to protect my head once I got back to the Citadel.

He never learns, does he. No, he doesn't, and that's what I like about him. No matter what, he's always going to give his help to those who need it.

Great chapter, can't wait for the next one.

Author Reply: Step One: Don't step out of Citadel ;)

Thanks for your second! review. :P

Very nice...

Poor Aragorn, when he gets home Arwen is going to give him a piece of her mind. And Aragorn having to deal with the drunk and his friends on his own, its never boring around him.

great job..

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed :)

If Arwen knew what kind of trouble Aragorn can get into in such a short period of time, she would put a sign of him,"please return, if found wondering arround"

Author Reply: LOL! I want to draw that now. What a great mental image.

Thank you for giving me a laugh, although you could see what would happen, events were played out with great timing.

As for the characters, you captured all the personalities expertly from Arwen and Faramir to Aragorn, the innkeeper and the cusomers. You could almost feel the atmosphere from the inn surround you. Aragorn's nature was brought to life and indeed his musings on being a hero are not something I have seen described before.

I look forward to your next chapter with eagerness.

Author Reply: Yes, I can be rather predictable... but I am glad that it was enjoyable, nonetheless. And I am so happy you enjoyed their characterizations! That makes me very happy :)
