To See A World  by Nightwing 18 Review(s)

Is this story dead? It seems to update less and less as the months (years?) go by and I'd like to read the whole story. I'm thinking I'm unlikely to get the chance.

Author Reply: This story is not dead. And you are right - it is being updated less frequently.

I am dealing with ill family members. Things are the way they are. Enough said.

I'm loving this story! But I'm dying for an update! Please please please! I wanna see how Legolas and Aragorn are going to get through an orc attack, and whether they'll be able to rescue the kid and defeat the evil tyrant...
It's all so exciting!

Wow! I've only just discovered this story and have devoured it in a few days. Of all the Legolas / Aragorn friendship fanfics I've read, in my opinion this is the best of the lot. I'm now desperately awaiting the next update!

I don't usually cry when reading emotional stuff (British stiff upper lip!)but I've blubbered shamelessly through most of this and I think you've got the balance just right between the heart-rending emotion and the lighter moments. I'm also very impressed with your use of language - as I'm English, I find obvious American phrases very jarring in a LOTR fic, but nothing's jumped out at me at all, which is quite an achievement in a 45 chapter epic!

Oh, did you have to leave us there?
I do hope the people begin to listen to our two friends. Some people are just so stubborn.
Orcs...they're in for trouble. MUCH trouble.
Wonderful chapter, Nightwing.

Yes, a whistle, but not just any whistle. A whistle so overwhelmingly loud, piercing, and longgggggggggggggggg, that the elf cannot help but be noticed, as if his glow and beautiful blond hair were not enough!! Yes, that seemed altogether fitting at that point, and definitely made for a really rousing mental picture!! Wonderful!

I was thrilled to see this update - and very thrilled to hear that you'd gotten your laptop. Now if the muse will just stay in residence, I think we should be in a very good way to seeing some really great action very soon. Your story has been slowly but inexorably building in tension - it's beginning to feel like just before one of those summer thunderstorm, when the air is heavy with humidity, the clouds are dark, the air is still, but the rain doesn't come, and you feel this growing tension, wishing it would JUST RAIN, DARN IT!!! You know it's coming, but the wait is killing you! Things are building in this story, we know there's got to be some major head-on confrontations for Legolas, and the tension is getting as thick as that summer pre-thunderstorm humidity! I think when this breaks, it's going to be a downpour, LOL!

Thanks so much for sticking with this story and giving us such a quality read. I'm loving every work of it.

YES! I'm so happy to see a new chapter up, Nightwing.
Well, the Orcs are coming and all the folks are concerned with is that the Elf is out of prison...*tisk, tisk*. I'm thinking, that once he has positioned some archers on the roofs and has taken down a couple dozen orcs single handed, they just might change their minds...hummm? I,too, loved the whistle Legolas gave to get their attention. It's a gift I very much admire...ha. Okay, now the fight begins...hope they can win the people over to their side.
Nightwing...so happy to hear you have received your laptop...I guess I can now put Aragorns' stinky, wet sock away.
I await the next instalment of this wonderful story. Please make it soon...
Peace
Bev

Author Reply: Hi Bev! It is always a pleasure to receive a review from you. It is sometimes amazing how thick people can be, isn't it! Let's hope that the elf helping them to battle the orcs will help them to realize what they ought to be paying attention to.

well well!
it is great to see that you are still on this story. I like that chapter...hopefully the next one comes soon and is longer!

get my ranger fighting ...so he can finally come and rescue me from this insane chaos over here!
everythings ok on this side of the world and my boys are being great! but I find very little time for myself!

the LotR exhibition is in germany these days (near Berlin).....guess who is going! I'm totally excited!!

Author Reply: Hello! I am happy that you can still find time to do some fanfic reading. It must not be easy these days.

I do not know if Aragorn is brave enough to handle an army of little boys! That is scarier than an army of Mordor orcs!

Oh, I hope you enjoy the exhibition! That should be a lot of fun!

One thing I have always wished I could do is whistle on two fingers. I am so jealous of Legolas for being able to do that.

I'm not at all jealous of him trying to run blind through a raging battle, though. He must be absolutely terrified, and it's a good thing that he has Aragorn at his side to keep him oriented. With a little luck, Our Heroes might just win this one, but it'll take some luck. That, and the people realizing that orcs can be killed after all. Watching Legolas bring one down might do wonders for their self-confidence.

Author Reply: Hi FP! I'm jealous of him too. My husband can really rip off some amazing whistles. When I try, I just end up slobbering all over myself.

As for bringing down an orc, Legolas might just do that.
