Lori ~

I’m so late getting to these last few chapters, I don’t know if you will ever read this. I can only hope that you are still with us and hope that you may have had a turnaround in your health.

I want you to know that I have loved To See A World for years. Even without an ending, I know I’ll be coming back and rereading this story again and again. Thank you for the gift of your imagination and your skill at storytelling. I’m glad that writing it brought you joy, because reading it has certainly brought me joy.

Blessed be. ❤️

Dear Lori,

I just found "To see a world" a few days ago on fanfiction.net and it's become my favourite story after only a few chapters. Your writing is incredible and I can't thank you enough for the time I got to spend reading it. Personally, I loved the way you wrote Legolas being blind and trying to adjust to everything. To be completely honest, I'd even prefer it if he never regained his sight as I do think that even blind, he's as strong as ever, if not stronger because of all he had had to endure. Also, Aragorn was amazing in this story. The way he was always there for Legolas and helped him through it all, being as selfless as ever, really made me love him even more than I already do and you've done a marvellous job at portraying their friendship. I will for sure read the story again, And more than just once, and I want to thank you again for this beautiful piece of work.

Reading that you got cancer really shocked me, and as saddened as I am, I still do hope that you find a way to win the fight against this terrible illness. I wish you all the best and hope that you find happiness.
With love,
Luisa

Dear Lori,

I've been reading your story and I enjoyed the suspense. I am so sorry to learn of your illness. I don't know if you will still be able to check these reviews, but may God bless you and heal you and grant you peace in His forgiveness and love. I pray that you turn to Him in your need.

Lori,

I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry that you got cancer. When I first read your note, I cried. I'm not kidding. I cried not because the story wasn't going to be finished, but because it really is a shame that cancer found you.

I want to say that you are a really great writer. Your story is unbelievably fascinating; you are my favorite Lord of the Rings fan fiction author. You're extremely talented, and I am sure that if you put your mind to it, you could have published a novel.

I just wanted to say again that you are very gifted in the art of writing. Lori, I am really, truly sorry that you got cancer. Be at peace, mellon-nin.

I have followed this story since it began and it has always been--will always be--one of my favorites. My heart is heavy that someone who has brought me so much enjoyment and has such talent should be facing such a diagnosis. I am profoundly sad--and profoundly touched that facing what you are, you thought to give us one last update. Thank you for the many, many hours of reading this beautiful story. I wish you peace.

Dear Lori, I have no words, the sadness is overwhelming. TSAW is gold. Farewell

Dear Nightwing (Lori),
I just left a long review in FF. net for your story. When I checked the reviews I saw a recent one saying the reviewer had seen your farewell here on Stories of Arda. I came straight here to read it myself. It is with no small amount of sadness that I write this, because my heart breaks that the world is losing another great artist. And you are truly great, Lori. I have been reading my whole life, fanfiction for the last several years. TSAW is one of the best stories I have ever read, fanfiction or otherwise. You have a gift. Stories make us human. They remind us who we are and were, where we come from, where we might be going, why we love and live and keep on living. They also give us the ability to become someone else, to transcend our own petty realities and play pretend again. The great artists are the alchemists, they become immortal, their work weathers centuries, and gives us back a piece of our youth. I cannot presume to understand what you are going through right now. But I want you to know this: I will not forget this story, and I will not forget its author, who shared with the world, with strangers and readers she would never know, a work of art that made me feel. This story brought me joy and pain, excitement and fear and anger and love. It was a wild and wonderful ride, I feel grateful to have read it, and I know I am not alone. And I am grateful to you. Thank you, Nightwing, Lori, for sharing with the world this piece of art. Thank you for continuing the story of the characters we love so much. Thank you for adding your voice to a rich forest of creativity, for planting a tree unlike any other, one I have been gifted to, like Legolas, climb into and find refuge. May we stay here long, and one day sing together.
I wish you well in your next journey. Good luck. May your stars be bright.
Thank you.

Dear Nightwing,

I never had the privilege of knowing you personally, but I did have the privilege of reading your story. It will remain very dear to me for a few reasons: first, it was one of the first few fanfiction stories of any kind that I'd ever read; second, it demonstrates writing and plot of the highest quality; and last but not least, it captures the friendship of Aragorn and Legolas so beautifully that it inspired my own story (For the Love of the Lord of the White Tree). Your name shall remain cited in my humble tale.

In the face of your illness, what you wrote may seem less important, but I hope you see it as a legacy to everyone who had the pleasure of taking the journey with you. It has entertained and inspired. As you go through the next part of your life, I hope you find the kind of love and support you wrote so articulately about, from the people around you.

Gandalf said: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” I know you will spend it with wisdom and fortitude (I remember how you took care of your daughter), and I wish for you much peace and serenity in the days to come.

With the greatest respect,
Legolass

Dear Lori, I'm deeply saddened by this news and I want to wish you to live fully the days that remain to you and to find peace at the end of the road. This was the first LOTR fanfiction I ever read and I loved it. It was one of my comfort reads, the one I turned to when I needed support. Thank you from the deep of my heart for this wonderful tale.
