That is a very nice read. Love that you use Boromirs view. Looking forward to more Chapters and to read how Boromirs view in regards of the Hobbits will change in time, when he gets to know them better. :)

Author Reply: Oh, I suspect we'll see a good deal of Boromir's POV regarding each of those he's just meeting and will meet shortly.

So Boromir has now seen hobbits - his world continues to grow. How fun to see Sam and Pippin picking food out for Frodo. I wonder what the Man will think when he sees the oldest 'child'. Love Glorfindel's advice about not getting between them and their food! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, he has finally seen Hobbits, and has been warned to take them seriously. Now, when he meets Frodo he will most likely be uncertain what to expect. How much he's taken Glorfindel's warning we don't yet know. I doubt he as yet fully appreciates just what is at stake, much less just how strong Hobbits are capable of being. He will learn.

I love how the members of the Fellowship arrive and are introduced to us - especially the Hobbits!

And oh my! Is Glorfindel angry about the Dwarves remarks about Elves or what??? Should be interessting.

Thanks for continuing this - it is a great read!

Author Reply: No, I think it is the thought of what nearly happened to Frodo Baggins that has Glorfindel angry. He, after all, was the one who saw Frodo to safety upon Asfaloth. And we see some hints of the future dynamics of the journey Boromir will be part of.

And thank you for the feedback!

This is a great idea as all the time, you are reminded of the tragedy of Bormir's death and you have brought out all his nobilty and vulnerabilty too - made him so very human. I live this scene with all the fellowship really in the same room just about and yet unaware of each other. I liked the protrayal of Elladan too and Glorfindel - that Bormir cant think what he knows or once knew of Glorfindel is a terrific detail. Really enjoyable story - thank you

Author Reply: Boromir is a good deal beyond his depth, for he's suddenly met Elves, and has his first glimpses of Dwarves and Hobbits, and now knows that there do remain Dunedain in the north.

What a wonderful scene, so full of little treasures. I like how the hobbits were given leave to choose from the sideboard first, how observant Boromir is, and that small detail about Glorfindel's memories -- and patience -- at the end. I'm really enjoying this story.

Author Reply: Thank you so, Shirebound. I suspect that the Elves of Rivendell have practiced allowing Bilbo to approach the sideboard first, and find themselves doing similarly with these newcomers.

And I suspect that during his long life Glorfindel has learned a good deal about the practice of patience.

Again, thanks so for the feedback.

So, Boromir has his first sight of the halfling race his dream mentions--and immediately takes them for children. This seems very likely indeed.

I like seeing these things through his eyes--he *knows* so little, and is only just beginning to realize that there must be truths behind the legends!

I look forward to more.

Author Reply: Oh, yes, he's now glimpsed the Hobbits and has had his first warnings not to underestimate them. Am so glad you feel his reactions are realistic. Oh, yes, he has a good deal more to learn!

Thanks so for the feedback.
