Coastal Tales  by Linda Hoyland 38 Review(s)

I liked the ending of the chapter, where all is not sweetness and light and Long-Live-The-King. It makes sense that the locals are wary of the king, since they've never seen him and have been unjustly treated by the postRing War authorities.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I@m sure it will take time for Aragorn to win over some of his subjects.

Hooray; glad to see more of this fic!

Faramir's decision to send guards ahead was very sensible--not because he and his King needed protection but because of circumstances like this.

And how very sly for Brandir to lay extortionary taxes in the King's name. A good thing he's being brought to justice, but I don't blame the people (who can, especially in a group, be rather obtuse) for not appreciating the King's justice at the moment. I wonder, will Aragorn find a way to open legal venues to prevent this sort of thing from happening elsewhere? He cannot be everywhere all the time, after all.

This looks to be a lot of fun, especially with both King and Steward shadowing towns in everyday garb. There's something about that idea that's always drawn me.

More please!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated and thoughtful review . I hope Faramir has learned from their misadventures in my other stories!I Think Aragorn will do something to prevent any more Brandir's such as sending his own men to see the correct rates of tax are levied.

The story I'M currently posting here,"A Time to Reap" has Aragorn and Faramir working incognito as farm labourers if you enjoy that kind of scenario.

Well you've set the scene well here. You just know there's going to be trouble though!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you are enjoying the story.Do my Aragorn and Faramir ever manage to avoid trouble LOL?It amazes me their wives allow them out!

An auspicious beginning, although the signs of rebellion are indeed troublesome. At least he has the best of traveling companions as his wife and son do not accompany him.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you are enjoying the story.I'm now investigating just what is causing the trouble for our heroes.

So the lads are going to the seaside - I guess they're not taking the sunscreen and beach umbrellas! Arwen is right to worry, considering what happens to her hubby in many fanfic stories.

A promising beginning.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review and making me smile.I'm pleased you are enjoying the story. It amazes me Arwen ever allows such an accident prone pair out of her sight!Let us hope they do get some fun at the seaside as well as a business trip.
