Ah--one needs manual dexterity to do well with a forge, and now he must regain that skill. And I love the idea of Vana disapperating while dancing along the shoreline of the lake! Heh!

Author Reply: Glad you liked the image of Vana disappearing while dancing along the shoreline of the lake, Larner. Thanks for letting me know. I rather like the image myself. *grin*

Ah, I wondered when the basket weaving was going to make an appearance, good choice, manual dexterity coupled with fine motor control, not the same thing I think?
Has to be frustrating to be treated like elflings when you are centuries older than your instructors, but I expect Irmo and Este and Namo are still feeling their way with the reborn to some extent themselves, trial and error is not the best way, but some times, it is the only way.
Good chapter, more please,
Lynda

Author Reply: Glad you liked this chapter, Lynda. I suspect that you are correct that the Valar are still feeling their way with the Reborn and sometimes trial and error is the only way to figure things out even for the Valar.

I imagine it would have been very confusing for the elves of Aman to try and figure out the names of the reborn/returning elves - it's always hard for me to remember them. :) Weaving baskets would definitely help with fine motor skills, but it is a funny image to have of this great warrior king - I remember in E.I. them talking about him learning to do that just as Glorfindel made jewelry (I think!) Enjoyable chapter!

Author Reply: Radbooks, I can't believe I didn't answer this review when first posted! I don't know why I didn't when I answered everyone else's review. Sorry about that and you've probably forgotten all about this chapter. *grin* But I did want to comment that trying to keep the Quenya/Sindarin names of characters straight is hard. I have to keep a score card myself. So, it was probably quite confusing for the Amanians to figure out who was who and very frustrating for the reborn/returning elves to have to shift mental gears and remember what people's names were before they came to Beleriand.
