The Ranger and the Hobbit  by Cairistiona 16 Review(s)

Well, I sure hope they'll get some horses somehow. ;-) I can't really see Aragorn taking a long walk anytime soon. It's a relief to finally know him in good hands! I hope Aragorn will be able to hold those sausages down, or Ferdinand will likely be very disappointed. *g* Poor Halbarad and Denlad - I think if their chieftain ever manages to get that close to dying again, he'll likely give them a heart attack! I wish Denlad knew that his cry saved Aragorn - hopefully, it would make him feel a tiny little bit better. I guess they will all need quite some time to discover from the shock (and, in Aragorn's case, from the injuries). *huggles them*

Author Reply: Thanks, Almut! I think it would be nice if Denlad knew his cry helped distract that spy... he'll have to wait until Aragorn's up for more conversation, though. Hard to talk when your lip is split and your eye is swelling shut and a good part of your blood is no longer in your veins. *g* Denlad will have to muddle his own way to feeling better, I'm afraid.

And yes, now the recovery begins in earnest... I think you're right in that it will take a while for all of them!

Thanks for the review!

I can feel Denlad pain when he was running to Aragorn and trying to see what was happening at the same time. I feel so bad for him when he was despairing about survive this war and when finally he crash down. I hope that you keep him alive to see Argorn as a King, we all know what happened to Halbarad, but I have hope for Denlad.

Love the exminationan, the detail of Halbarda and his open mounth, it happens to me all the time when my daughter goes to the doctor, I follow the instruction that the Dr. give to her, it is very funny.

I just want to give a big hug to those three, only a hug, my own Ranger will not want me be more expressive.

Author Reply: Thank you, Fantasia! I always like hearing what moves readers the most. I hope Denlad survives to see Aragorn king as well... I imagine he probably will but it's a long dangerous road ahead of him, where anything could happen.

And yes, I've done that myself, with my own daughter at the dentist--I find myself opening my mouth a little wider when she doesn't! It's a silly human trait, I guess!

I'm sure the Rangers appreciate the hugs, and yes, don't want to give them the hugs due only to your own Ranger! :)

Thanks for the review!

Whew! I'm almost out of breath from that run down the hill! Still reading, still loving it. Now we have two shirt-less, bare-chested Rangers. Woo hoo! Or that's what I imagined, anyway, LOL.

Author Reply: LOL... yes, I suppose we do have shirtless Rangers! Enjoy the imagery. *g*

I'm glad you're still loving the story... thanks for the review!

Yay, everything seems OK for now! :) I must confess that I was scared to the end of the chapter, thinking there were some more Southrons hidden.
Excellent chapter, with great descriptions and perfectly portrayed thoughts and emotions of your characters - as always. You keep very high level of writing from the very begining. ;)

Author Reply: Thank you, Ellynn! I'm so glad you enjoy my writing, and yes, a respite for the moment for our beleaguered Rangers (and readers!). Aragorn's finally going to get his much needed TLC. Thanks for the review!

"‘I can walk.’ Listen to you," Halbarad said softly, but his gaze was affectionate as he looked at Aragorn’s face

A wonderful blend of fear, urgency, love, skill, and gentle teasing. These three are brothers indeed.

Author Reply: I think there's nothing that binds people together more tightly than hardships, and these three have been through many. I'm glad you liked this chapter... it was a long time coming but Aragorn's finally in loving hands! Thanks for the review!
