A Hawk and a Star  by Mirach 44 Review(s)

*waits (im)patiently for the next chapter*

This story really got to me. Eärendil is one of my favourite characters, and there have been many good stories about him lately. Many of them from you! I wonder if the relative low number of reviews for this story means that many reads it and lurk, like I have done, or that too few people know how good this story is yet. I am looking forward to the next chapter. It is almost painful to see the familiar characters in this situation.

Author Reply: I'm really glad that you like Eärendil, any my stories about him! He is not usually among the most popular characters, so it's possible not many people read about him. but the more I'm glad for every reader. Thank you for the review! The next chapter will come soon, probably tomorrow ;)

This is the best chapter so far, at least to me! The descriptions are perfect, the atmosphere is tense and thrilly. Great work! :) Can't wait for more.

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter despite the cliffhanger ending!

Quite the adventure, this. A spider apparently has Earendil, and Eonwe is tied for the moment to an incarnate body. Now, to see where and how he awakens.

Author Reply: A nice summary =) It's a ssssssspider, and considers Earendil and Eonwe tassssssty flies, maybe?

Thank you very much for all reviews, Larner!

Another assault, a darker one this time?

Author Reply: Something like that, yes...

A good save, and now Earendil has a crew of sorts, even if it is but one--Maia. Heh!

Author Reply: Oh yes, I loved the irony of the Chief of the Maiar being a crew of Captain Earendil ;) For Eonwe it's something new and interesting also, and he really enjoys it!

Dealing with a concussion can be very difficult, I know. At least all is almost in one piece, and all as safe as it can have been made. Now--to wait.

Love the rescue of the ship by Eonwe!

Author Reply: lol, "almost in one piece" is a very fitting expression! And it seems Eonwe is trying to experience as much falling as possible in this story ;)

And what a terrible fight! Now--to get Earendil to safety!

Author Reply: I love air-battles! And the sky in that time as I imagine it was a dangerous place, full of creatures of the Void thet slipped in when the Door of Night has been opened...

AHHH!!!! No can't do that to me!! I've found your stories on Fanfiction.net, and when I found this site this one was just starting. I love it!! But, but, but...Cliffhangers!! sniff.

Author Reply: Ah, those cliffhangers... Readers hate them, and yet the authors can't resist them... ;) I'll try to post the next chapter as soon as possible! Thank you for reading, and for the review!

I really like the conversation between Elrond and Elros - especially the moment when they talk about their father - it is so beautifully written.

Author Reply: Thank you very much!

I feel so sorry for Earnedil not getting break even when he is so gravely injured. I'm glad Eonwe is there to help him out therough all of this. I bet eonwe will enjoy the chance to sail to Middle-earth and see it once again and feel useful once again. Poor elwing puts up with a lot with her love going away every day like he does.

Author Reply: Thank you for the review, ellie! Elwing has it really hard, especially in this time when the skies are still so dangerous... And Earendil with his fate until the end of the world, accepting no excuses... or yes? We'll see yet. But Eonwe is a great help anyways!
