Finally had a chance to get caught up with your story! Glad the muse is cooperating. I really like that Frodo stood up to Gandalf and demanded to know what was going on.

Author Reply: Thank you. That's one of my favorite parts, too. :)

Oh wow, this is getting exciting! And I see that they're not going to tell Aragorn... so I do wonder how he will find out. But of course it makes perfect sense that they cannot tell him, because they certainly don't want the entity to find out they know. And besides, if they did, Aragorn would do all these honorable things and offer to sacrifice himself or something. Yep.

I can't wait for the next chapter---I am wondering what Gandalf is up to. Of course we saw him "throw" Saruman out of Theoden's mind in ROTK, but Saruman is no Nazgul... and this will probably be very different.

Eagerly anticipating what's to come!

Author Reply: You've so patient, Lily! I haven't written it yet, but I think that chapter 6 will finally bring us back to Aragorn, and Things Will Happen. What a joy to know that you're out there reading. *happy hugs*

Ooh! An ominous ending! You are quite good at cliffies, dear!

I'm so relieved though, that the most important people know about Aragorn's problem and have set their minds to dealing with it. And I love Sam's concern for Frodo, and Frodo's amusement at it.

I am looking forward to seeing how you untangle this ominous dilemma!

Author Reply: I have to untangle it?? *grins* Thank you for the vote of confidence.

It's a relief to finally get Gandalf & Co. aware of and focussed on this hidden danger, and to get Frodo and Sam involved. They all certainly know how to keep secrets!

I'm waiting impatiently to see Gandalf's plan! The Enemy's weapons are really fearsome!

Well, at least they know there's a danger, and hopefully Gandalf will be able to do something about it. Convincing Aragorn that Frodo needs him should help keep in inside the Valley. Loved Glorfindel's "Unless the Dark Lord launches an attack, or Vingilot itself comes to rest on the front lawn, we are not to be disturbed." *snicker*

Author Reply: Glad you liked that line about Vingilot. Of course, you never know what might happen in Rivendell! :)

I love when Frodo stands up to Gandalf. It always makes me smile.

Another wonderful chapter, dear. It was good to read that Gandalf came up with a plan so quickly to try to draw the evil from Aragorn, but frightening to know it is so dangerous.

Author Reply: It's always a pleasure to show Frodo as an adult, even while needing comfort and care. :)

I'm glad you're enjoying this. Gandalf's plan is indeed unusual. Now I.... err, HE needs to work out the details.

Oh, what a suspenseful chapter! They'll have their hands full, I fear, trying to keep Aragorn in Imladris, but if anyone can do it, Glorfindel, Elrond and our four intrepid Hobbits can! I like how you've written Glorfindel--I too would have imagined he took it as a personal failure that this has happened and the Enemy has a toehold in Imladris. Helping Gandalf will go a long way toward helping him feel better about things, I would think.

Can't wait for the next installment!

Author Reply: Thank you! Poor Glorfindel probably hasn't had to apologize for many things in his long life, but even an Elf-lord misjudges a situation now and then. And you've been so patient for the "Aragorn" part of the story to begin... which it will in the next chapter! :)

Well at least now, they are aware of what is going on and are taking steps to nutralise it at the least, maybe if Frodo were to suffer a small relapse it would give Aragorn even more reason to stay with him and help?

Coming along nicely.

Lynda
