A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 15 Review(s)

Hi, me again. Has Arafinwe seen the colours picked out for the wedding garb, 'cause if he hasn't he needs to and soon very, very, soon! I think he might have a few choice comments for Almariel.
I have a feeling Eonwe is going to be getting writes cramp and may even have to bind a new Book of Oaths, if he hasn't already with what has been going on!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: I don't remember if he's seen them or not, to tell you the truth. I doubt he has but when he does....

And I have a feeling Eönwë will need to open up a whole new archive just to cover this wedding before it's over with. LOL!

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Lynda.

O.M.G.! I thought Finrod was the bridegroom, not the court jester! What was Almariel thinking, was she thinking? I think the final touch was the Peacocks feather on the 'crown'! How they can expect him to wear this outfit is beyong me, he will be the laughing stock of all the 5 realms!
I do feel so sorry for Earwen, having to put her son through this, maybe the clothing can have a little 'accident' on it's way to Finrods room, I think a few of the seamstresses and tailors would not mind helping?!

I think the idea of having Nolofinwe and his sons stay with Herendil and his wife until just before the wedding is a good idea, one more large party of riders coming into the city before the wedding will not be given all that much notice.

Well Earwen has some housekeeping chores to do and Finrod has to calm down some before he can be civil, maybe a good swing in Glorfy's Mallorn will help calm him down.

You need to write longer chapters, I am disapointed when I finiah them, I want more!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Sorry the chapters aren't as long as you'd like, but I just write them as the Muse directs. I think you'll get a kick out of how Finrod deals with the wedding garb in the next chapter. I certainly had a ball writing it. *grin*

And having Nolofinwë and his sons come to the city with a large party of other Noldor should help to keep their entrance low-key and unnoticed by most. We'll see how that works out soon enough.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I quite appreciate it.

Honestly, how can people so renowned for making things of exquisite beauty come up with wedding garb that is this atrocious! Whoever designed this should be thrown into the deepest cell in Mandos. Either an accident or a revolution is called for, but Finrod should never be seen in that garb again. A bonfire is highly recommended.

Author Reply: Hi Erulissë. Well even Elves aren't perfect and they can be just as spiteful as any of us. We'll see what Finrod does about the garb in the next chapter. Your suggestion about a bonfire isn't far off. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

one of the best things about going on holiday is coming back to multiple updates! Whee! But what an update! So many things happening - really, the timing couldn't have been worse (and every time Fingolfin asked "who's Anarie" I winced. Ow. Just. Ow.) And then the last chapter. Oh man, that wedding outfit. Wow. Uh. I believe the kindest word is "Interesting". Can elves be colour blind?

Author Reply: Hi Bookworm. Welcome back! Hope you had a good holiday. As they say, timing is everything. *grin* I don't know if Elves can be color blind but you have to wonder, especially where Almáriel is concerned. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I very much appreciate it.

I like this chapter very much, although I sort of feel sad for our protagonists.

I do have faith that all of the crazy things that are happening are happening for a reason, particularly with Nolofinwë, Findecáno, and Aracáno's release from Lorien; but I really, really am wondering just why all the things that touch on Finrod's part of the wedding seem to be designed to aggravate him and go totally against his taste and wishes.

I can sort of see Almáriel picking out the horrible dishware pattern on purpose simply to be stubborn (and possibly obstructionist), but why, oh, why did Eärwen choose that awful, awful outfit (and the hat!) for Finrod to wear? Even if the wedding colors weren't changed, they most certainly could have been put together in a much more pleasing style! Is this the creation of a clothing designer who wants to force a new fashion on the folk of Tirion? Or is there something more going on? Hmmmm.

BTW, why didn't the red rosettes on the yellow-green background trigger another episode for the Reborn like the china did?

Oh! I just remembered that the dear friend from Mandos who made the special tunic for Finrod when he was in Lorien before he returned to his family is a resident of Tol Eressea, where the girls have allegedly gone. Mayhap Amarië's outfit in the wedding colors was so horrible, she ran away to pick up something more to her taste on Tol Eressëa? And maybe she'll bring something special back for her groom? *grin*

Ingwion's final comment had to sting. I sort of feel a bit sorry for Eärwen, but part of me wants to shake her. Of course, the tricksy part of me is trying to decide if she has done this on purpose to force something to happen... Heh!

Finrod should have just scooped up Amarië and eloped like his parents did! LOL!

Thanks for the new installment! I do hope that the next chapter brings Finrod some peace of mind!

Well done!

Author Reply: Hi Rhyselle. Well you may be the only one who has faith at this point. I'm sure Finrod is wondering "Why me?" right about now. As for why the pattern didn't affect the Reborn the way they were affected by the china pattern, maybe they were able to hide it better and they were probably already in shock seeing it on Finrod. We'll learn eventually why Amarië ran off to Tol Eressëa, and yes, the wedding garb has something to do with it.

Eärwen isn't really at fault here, but she's the one who's there so she gets the blame.

As for Finrod finding some peace of mind... well we'll just have to see, won't we? *grin*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I very much appreciate it.
