Oh, my.... I love the unexpected twist and turns in your story plots. This story sort of reminds me of "Upstairs,Downstairs" ... The best parts sometimes happen in the kitchen or the broom closet... LOL...

Hugs

Calenlassiel

Author Reply: Hi Calenlassiel. I remember that show and I think you're right about that. LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed this story. Thanks for letting me know.

Beautiful tale, but it broke my heart at the end. Poor Glorfindel, torn between two worlds. He miss Finrod and the rest, but he loves Elrond's sons enough to stay with them, even if his oath does not go that far, I don't believe that he has to stay for them, I'm right?

Thank you Fiondil, waiting for the next one....

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. Whether his oath takes him that far, is not really the issue. It's Glorfindel's own sense of duty that keeps him in Middle-earth. As long as there is one direct heir of Turgon in Middle-earth, he will remain. Eventually, after Arwen dies, he will return to Aman with the Twins in tow. At least in this particular universe. In the "Elf Academy" universe they remain up to the present age, but that's for story purposes only.

Thanks for all your reviews. I've enjoyed them very much.

Well, I'm not sure if that ended with a bang or a whimper or both!

Trust Osse to spoil everything, I hope he enjoyed his time with Namo!

Should have eloped Finrod, should have eloped,it would have saved an endless lot of fuss and bother, but I doubt if Almariel would have been speaking to you for at least a couple of Yen, which, come to think of it would not have been so bad!

Way to go Castimar, looks like he does wear the pants in that family, probably just prefers to lat Almariel run things for him so he can concentrate on his own interests.

What's up with Glorfindel, is he having mood swings again, not that I blame him, this must have reminded him of his oaths both to Errendil and to Elrond and to himself and of how much longer it will be before he can go back to Aman and his 'family'.

Good one Fiondil, this is definately going on the e-reader!

Waiting for E.A.ll

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I'm glad you enjoyed this story enough to put it on your e-reader.

As for Glorfindel... he's feeling homesick for his gwador, is all. Telling that story sort of brought home to him how much he misses Finrod and the others. I'm sure he would've liked to have gone home to Aman with Elrond and Gandalf, but as long as the Twins were determined to stay, so would he.

Anyway, E.A.II will be up next week.

Thanks for all your comments and support, Lynda. I've appreciated them very much.

And so it comes to an end, and despite the joy in reliving the experience and sharing it with friends, Glorfindel is left empty and aching, missing those he left behind as he straddles two worlds. I fear from the time he stepped onto Middle Earth for the second time, he will forever be twisted in two different directions, even when he returns to the West in many years yet to come.

It was a joy to read, I look forward to Elf Academy's continuation, and as always, I thank you.

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Unfortunately, that's what sometimes happens when you share even happy memories, but Glorfindel will recover well enough. I doubt this is the first time he's done this. And someday I hope to write about his return to Aman and how he has to re-adapt himself to living there. In the meantime, there is EA2 to look forward to.

Thanks for all your reviews of this story. I've enjoyed them very much.

Well done Mellon Nin, Well Done!!

Please give Glorfi and huge hug for me as thanks for the story and a bit of support. Some times even remembering happy occassions can be hard.

Now, tell finrod and Amarie, that we also thought we were cursed when Hurricane Hugo ripped through our home in SC. We were told rain on your wedding day meant that you would weather any storm, We will be celebrating 24 years since that Hurricane. LOL

Lastly, glad to see the Valar are just as prone to mischief as anyone else.

Eliza

Author Reply: Hi eliza. Congratulations on your 24th anniversary. That's quite an accomplishment these days. I'm sure you're not the only one who could tell tales of disastrous weddings. They do happen. I remember seeing on TV years ago a video showing a wedding when all of a sudden a storm came up and literally started blowing away the tent and everything under it, which is where I got the idea here.

I've given Glorfi your hug and good wishes.

I'm glad you enjoyed this story. I appreciate you letting me know.

*sigh* The End. I had forgotten that this was a tale told by Glorfindel. I have to go back to the beginning to see how this all started.

Poor Finrod and Amarie. That wedding feast was ruined. I feel sorry for all the people who worked so hard to make the food and prepare the feast. All the decorations and clothing ruined. At least for the next occasion all the elves need new finery that should keep the tailors and seamstresses happy.

Almariel should be glad that the wedding didn't happen in Vanyamar. Those people are not that used to the Valar and their antics. I think the disasters would have followed the happy couple anywhere they would have celebrated.

I had to laugh at the fainting of Nolofinwe at his wedding. Although, I don't think the poor ellon can appreciate the funny side of it yet.

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. I'm sure others forgot that this was actually a tale being told by Glorfindel.

I'm sure once the storm passed and the cleanup was over with, the Valar and the Maiar feasted everyone so they at least got something out of the wedding.

And actually, the people of Vanyamar, situated as it is at the foot of Taniquetil are more used to dealing with the Valar than other Elves. But I suspect you're right that the disasters would've followed the couple regardless of where the wedding took place.

I'm sure Nolofinwė will come to see the funny side of his fainting at his own wedding eventually. Right now he's too newly Reborn to appreciate it.

Anyway, thanks for all your reviews. They've been very much appreciated.

Thank you again for a great story! I've been following this one from the beginning and it has been the highlight of many Wednesdays. The funny thing is that you never know what you learn from fanfiction, for example that salt melts icing (I'm more used to cakes covered in whipped cream). Now you have made me curious as to what the result looks like...

It's still hard to understand what the head cook was thinking. Surely he would have had known that it wouldn't end well. And the china! It almost deserved it's fate, though I wonder if the smashed pieces of china are still going to have the same infuence on the reborn as the whole pieces. And I'm glad that the poor couple got better clothes for the wedding, the original ones sounded awful.

The storm was a bit of a surprise (well, this whole story was full of surprises). This is going to sound odd, but I was so sure that the darkening was because of Vingilot's shadow. It was the only thing I could think of! Well, apparently no one had decided to borrow the ship and Ossė decided to give the couple his own gift. It would be quite an experience to be in the middle of a large storm and at the same time safe inside a bubble... actually, it sounds great!

Thank you for this lovely story, Fiondil. I hope that you start posting the next Elf Academy soon, I have been waiting for it for a long time. Though how you can write these novel-sized stories so fas, I can never understand; it took me approximately a month to write a three pages long original story!

Author Reply: Hi someone. I will be posting the next Elf Academy starting next week. And I write everyday for at least an hour before going to work and even on the weekends. So when I'm doing a novel-length story, I've generally been writing it for months before I even post the first chapter. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed this story. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it very much.

Ah, so Ossë couldn't resist to give the wedding his own touch, despite what he was told! I had really been wondering; Manwë or Nįmo may have a wry sense of humour, but I didn't think they would deliberately ruin the wedding with the weather. But at least they minimized the damage when it was inevitable, and even provided a new meal for the VIP guests. Btw, I totally enjoyed it when Castamir threatened to throw his wife out in the storm :D

Nice detail of the wedding of Nolofinwë and Anairë; and it seems she's doing a great job in dealing with her reborn husband.

Totally approve of the use the wedding china from Almįriel found in the end. That's all it was useful for, after all!

This was a great story! Thank you so much for many chapters of fun! I'll really miss it (and doubtless re-read it now and then). My only comfort is that we now get the sequel to EA, to which I look forward to.

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. I remembered one of my brothers fainting at his wedding. It was quite something to see. And Anairė is slowly getting the hang of dealing with her reborn family.

Glad you liked the fate of the wedding china from Hell, as another reviewer put it. I'm sure all my other readers approved of it as well. There really wasn't much else to do with it except bury it and I'm sure they had more fun destroying it, especially the Reborn.

And thank you for your kind reviews. I've enjoyed them very much. EA2 will be up and running beginning next week. Hopefully you will enjoy that story as well.

I suspect that Osse had a good deal to answer for. I'm glad that those who remained in the park were dried and given cake and wine to entertain themselves before the eye of the storm finally reached them and they could return home safely. As for the fate of Amariel's wedding china--well deserved!

And there are memories that make one regret one's choice to return to Ennor, I suspect. At least Gandalf is willing to carry home messages of love, even if Glorfindel finds himself wanting to spend time alone with his memories.

A good tale. Thanks for the weeks of entertainment!

Author Reply: I'm sure he had, Larner. *grin* And even the happiest memories can be a cause of regret. Glorfindel will do well enough and someday he'll return to Aman.

I'm glad you were entertained. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for all the reviews. They were very much appreciated.

So Isildil is going to apprentice with Nienna is he? I think he got off to easy.

Let the party begin.

Author Reply: I don't know, Tari. Nienna and Marilliėn can be hard taskmasters when they want to be. They won't let Isildil pull any nonsense on their watch. His stay there will definitely be no picnic but hopefully he'll leave there a better Elf. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.
