*weeping with joy*

Oh, yes! You got this perfectly right.

I have been where Sam is[ When my oldest son, the one with cerebral palsy and autism, first accomplished the same thing. Oh, gosh, the memories this piece has brought up in me....

Just absolutely beautiful!

Author Reply: Since you've experienced this first-hand, your review means so much to me! I was a bit nervous about this one.

This is just lovely, and paints such a marvelous picture of the two of them. I see this as being after they've been married a while-- yet I think from the beginning these two would understand one another better than most couples do.

Author Reply: I agree with you. And Faramir, of course, would always be seeking to deepen that understanding even more.

This had me snickering the whole way through! This is SO Merry-- especially loved the conversations with Sam, Eomer and Frodo--but loved the whole thing. Maps? Yep. Itinerary? Yep. Planning a week in advance? Yep (although if he could have, I bet he would have planned even longer in advance!)

“I have not only glared at him. We have also had words.”

“Well, then, have words with him this night, and make them friendlier!”

“You do not seem to understand fealty, Holdwine. And why is this needed, again?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.”

That made me hoot!

“How many pages of notes have you written, planning this?”

“More than you have, writing your book!”

And that made me hoot even more! That is not only SO Merry, it's so FRODO as well!

I wouldn't have minded seeing Gandalf's reaction to the invitation-- I don't think he'd have been surprised a lick; I'm sure he would have found it very Tookish!

Author Reply: Thanks! The hidden joke in all of this is that it looks as if (since it's driven by what Faramir wants) a good deal of Merry's plans went unused!

Happy Birthday!

Oh, how I love this ficlet! You have captured a facet of Finrod Felagund that I rarely see in fanfic, and it was so nice to see it. So many fics seem to focus solely on gem work when they address the craftsmanship of the Noldor and it is easy to forget that they were experienced in much, much more than that.

Hmmmm. Now I've got a little idea about Finrod using the knowledge he gained from this interaction when he is reborn in Aman...

Thank you very much, dear Celeritas! And many happy returns of the day!

Author Reply: Thanks! I think of Finrod as an all-around geek, who'd want to know as much as he could know about everything and wouldn't care if some of the conversation was too--say, medical--for dinner, etc. Having the chance to build his own underground fortress, in partnership with a completely different people, must have been a gold mine for him.

Oh, that is painfully bittersweet and lovely! So much revealed in that last sentence! And yet the entire story up to that point reveals even more, such as how loved Tom was, and how much not only Sam, but all of the others, cared!

Author Reply: Thanks so much!

I think that Sam's family would be the right one for such a child to be born, because he'd receive so much care, attention, and reassurance that, yes, they knew he was trying, and he was doing just fine.

Thank you so much for these excellent riddles!
They are as good as those of the Tolkien and would have fit perfectly in the riddles in the dark.
*bows to your skills*

Author Reply: Wow, that's pretty high praise, there!

I'm so glad you enjoyed them!

A lovely glimpse of companionship in marriage.

Author Reply: Thank you! Eowyn and Faramir are really a perfect match, aren't they?

This was just delightful. Thank you so much!I loved the way the Hobbits were so determined.

Author Reply: Thanks for the prompt, and for the review! I think the hobbits would be *very* determined to make sure Faramir gets to have fun.

Oh, this is a fun story. I love the hobbits all conspiring to give Faramir a bachelor party; and the bit with Eomer is just perfect. There aren't enough hobbits/Faramir stories...

Author Reply: Thanks! I think all the hobbits would make sure to do especially fun things with Faramir, what with the loss of his father and brother and the not-quite-golden family relationships up to that point.

Absolutely delightful! And I adore the idea of Bilbo and Finrod being such good friends!

Author Reply: Hm, let's see, a mortal fascinated by historical, heroic elves and an elf fascinated by mortals who he hasn't gotten to see in a very long time? How could it not happen?
