| What _is_ it with Farrell? here he is again, insisting that Alex shoot first, think later, and regret his actions (if at all) at leisure. Not particularly agently behaviour, IMO - and it makes me wonder just _why_ he is so insistent. And if those orders he is giving Alex _really_ are from the Agency at all. Especially with Farrell's "screw the bystanders" attitude. And Farrell is taking a big interest in the other elves at Edhellond as well - and did he also try to bug the place? It sound as if the elves' warding also works against remote surveillance devices - unless it is the Maiar who have decided to help out a little? And I see the Valar still like to poke anthills ... their little meeting with Alex went fairly well - he did not keel over dead from fright, nor did he totally freak out. Unless he gets a delayed reaction of some sort, of course. ;-) Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Well, as for Farrell... your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea what his game is... yet. Alex is running in survival-mode at the moment and hasn't had time to process what has happened and so there may well be a delayed reaction once he stops long enough to think about it. | Maybe I'm forgetting, but was there ever any real confirmation that Farrell actually was sent by the agency? How do we know he isn't working for someone else, like, say, Morgoth? | Here we go! Wonder how the Elves would feel about being considered "aces"? :-) And Amroth already had to shake them once recently? Why didn't he tell Alex earlier? I'd think that would have given them some people to investigate... I have this awful feeling that Farrell stayed around to see what Alex does after their little "chat". Love the way Namo and Este introduce themselves. Alex is adapting very well, and his reactions are priceless - not that the Valar play favorites, but I think they're enjoying him very much as little by little he chooses to turn from the dark. Author Reply: Hi Lyana. As to why Amroth didn't tell Alex about Farrell trying to take him, that explanation will be revealed in the next chapter. | Poor Alex, I'm glad that he has a very strong heart, because but now he should be close to a heart attack. Love Nate and Esther, I knew it !!!! Farrell is playing with fire, but he has back up that Alex doesn't know. My favorite piece is Alex thinking that he was dying because Namo was with him... Good that he will know the true intentions of the Academy. Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. Farrell is indeed playing with fire and how Alex deals with him and the other agents will be shown in a later chapter. I thought Alex making the (wrong) connection between Námo showing up and the pie hilarious myself, showing how his mind works, always suspicious of motives. Goes with the territory of being a spy. | It really seems that the Gold Nugget Café is the Valar's favorite place to ambush people. I liked Nate's baseball cap, it fits him well. *grin* Farrel clearly underestimated Alex, but why is he so obsessed with killing Amroth? Does he know he's responsible for the death of the head of agency? Alex' reaction for seeing the "angel of death" again was very entertaining, suspecting that the poor, innocent pie made by a Vala (Valie? what's the real singular form?) was poisoned! Author Reply: Hi someone. Yeah, it does seem that way. It's certainly a convenient place to hang out and ambush unsuspecting people. And Farrell has indeed underestimated Alex. As for his obseesion with Amroth... maybe we'll find out someday. And the correct singular form for a female Vala is indeed Valië, the plural being Valier. Thanks for leaving a comment. | Farrell is dangerous, very, very dangerous! His complete disregard for 'collateral damage' makes him so. Is he bucking for Alex' job? I had a feeling that if Esther was there Nate would not be too far behind, she has run interferance for him before. Now to let Amroth know and find the mole! Seating delegates. | I always love it when "Nate" slums with the second-born and this little interlude made me LOL at the coffeeshop while reading. Not that there aren't all sorts of problems here, but Alex will finally be getting the full scoop on why EA exists, and will be getting belp from Ambrose -in essence another agent in the field.
