Ugh, that sounds disturbing. I really hope the Elves will manage to stay one step ahead of the next disaster. Now, what kind of nightmares or foresight might have made Alex elope from the hospital - and how did he manage to do it anyway? Things are getting more ominous with each new chapter.

Author Reply: Hi Soledad. We can only hope that they can stay on top of things but it remains to be seen. And Alex... well he's obviously not thinking straight. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate you doing so very much.

That is one nasty, little Morgoth of a virus Alex has, I think Amroth did his job too well, even as sick as he is Alex was still able to sneak out.

Hm, half the generators in Wiseman out, sounds a little suspicious to me, but then I don't know how generators react in cold weather, presumably they need to be kept warm, or out of the wind. Maybe, when all this is over, the collage should look into retrofitting some of the buildings with closed wood stoves.

Alex does seem to be really concerned about Derek, maybe Glorfindel is right and he is having a premonition about him. Poor Alex this is turning out to be the worst possible assingnment for him, nothing seems to be going right, first Farrell, then dieing, then the virus and now a walk in the snow! I think something is telling him it is time to get out of the buisness!

Well off to hunt down breakfast and get ready for the salt mines,
Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Well, if it's cold enough with the wind-chill, even generators can freeze up and arctic conditions can really be nasty.

It does seem as if everything bad has been happening to Alex and in a way that's true. He, more than any of the other students, has had to be broken down and rebuilt, so to speak. The other students genuinely wanted to be there, but for Alex, it was just another assignment.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment before heading for the salt mines. I appreciate it very much.

Is this your version of Fimbulvinter?
(I'm just happy the weather here is nice, sunny and warm - or else I might have put on a woolen jacket.) ;-)
Alex' intense worry about Derek is making me worried. Alex is clearly having some kind of precognitive episode, so clearly some kind of serious danger is coming Derek's way. But why him, and from whom?
(I know - all will be made clear in time.)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Fimbulvinter... yeah, that just about describes it, doesn't it? *grin* Having lived through similar experiences (they still speak of the Blizzard of '66 when I was ten), I know of what I write. And Alex has every reason to be worried for Derek as we will see soon enough. Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it very much.

Either you or the Valar have no mercy at all. I am feeling sorry for every living being in Wiseman. brrrrrr. Too cold, but very interesting. I hope Farrell is really miserable. Great story continuing though I hope the cold lets up soon.

Hope you are continuing to improve.

Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. No mercy... and the Valar don't take prisoners. *grin* Glad you are enjoying the story. It'll be a few days before the cold moderates but it will eventually. And I'm improving as well. Thanks for enquiring and thanks for the review.
