Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 17 Review(s)

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... And the subconscious comes to the fore yet again when someone is soused. Well, I guess it's better to have those sentiments out in the open now than later. Poor Lawrence - it's horrible to hear something like that from a friend, even if you know they're dead drunk. Maybe they won't remember in the morning? Can't wait to see the reactions to this...

Loved the language interplay and the Alex's improv - what are the odds of someone knowing Swedish AND Finnish! It was also interesting to see how everyone in the bar is reacting to the Elves. I wonder how many students other than Jack have figured out that Elves really do exist.

Author Reply: Hi Lyana. Unfortunately, you're right about that. We'll see what Glorfindel's and Finrod's reactions to all this is in the next chapter.

I'm glad you liked the language interplay and Alex's improv. You could practicaly see him digging the hole deeper and deeper with every word out of his mouth.

And Jack, of course, knows about Elves being a native of Wiseman, and perhaps some of the other students there are also catching on. Theirs wasn't the only group of Academy students there at the bar by any means, since it's a popular hangout for them.

Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Reminds me a bit of Legolas and Gimli, altough Legolas never got that wasted. In fact, I don't think he got drunk at all. Poor ellyn's. If they think they're sick now, from what I've heard, tomorrow will be worse. (I've never even been high, much less drunk, and don't intend to be.)

Author Reply: Hi Tari. Yes, it does sort of remind one of that particular scene. However, drinking beer is different from drinking mixed drinks, especially these particular drinks, so it's no wonder that the three ellyn are blotto, to put it mildly. *grin* I've only be drunk a few times, and it's not a pleasant feeling aferwards, so you're not missing anything. Thanks for commenting. It's very much appreciated.

Oh, Eru! They have only done what 9 out of 10 collage students have done, left their brains at home in the jar by their beds!

I don't think Glorfindal or Finrod will need to come up with a suitable punishment, the Stooges/Amigos heads and stomachs will do it for them! Alex and Derek will come in for a little discussion but I can't see them having too much of a problem! The 'kids' are adults any way! (Snicker!)

Sounds like typical privaliged kids, you see it, you get it and daddy pays the bill. It would have helped a little if somebody had given them a quick lesson in finance, Wiseman style! Do they send their Bar Tabs to the Palace to be payed, surely they had some walking around money?

Oh well, now to get the Three Lushes home and sobered up!

I think somebody needs to come up with a Guide to Living Among Mortals and hand them out to all MME bound Elves to read on the trip over!

Fun one Fiondil,
Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. I think Glorfindel is going to have Daeron write up that guide for the MME-bound Elves. They certainly need it. LOL! And I guess Glorfindel forgot that the ellyn might not have any experience in handling money. They'll have to get used to doing so now. And we'll see how Alex reminds Finrod that the "kids" are indeed adults in the next chapter.

Thanks for reviewing. It's very much appreciated.

Young male Elves also suffer from testosterone poisoning from time to time, I see. That drinking contest was an incredibly stupid thing to do, and I can understand that both Finrod and Glorfindel are seriously pissed up at the five of them. The three amigos have fashioned their own punishment due to the inevitable effects of getting passed-out drunk.
That doesn't mean they might not get additional punishment, but clearly Alex and Derek are in for it now.
It was really fun to see the young female students glomming onto the three ellyn in the cafeferia. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that they might feel rather hunted soon. It would be interesting to see them fend off the ravening horde - when they are sober again, that is.

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Yes, incredibly stupid, but typical, and we've all "been there, done that" to one degree or another. I think the hangovers the three amigos will no doubt suffer will be punishment enough for them. As for Alex and Derek... we'll just have to see. Thanks for commenting. It's always appreciated.

What a way to learn about how the young mortals entertain themselves. I was howling with laughter until Glorfindel and Finrod showed up. Derek summed it up when he said they were in trouble. "snicker and grin"

Author Reply: Hi Clouded Leopard. Sort of a baptism by fire approach to learning about life in modern Middle-earth. None of them will forget this night in a hurry. We'll see just how much trouble they are in in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it greatly.

I think a whole bunch of someones are in trouble and they can only blame themselves. This is a funny but very realistic chapter of young male behavior. I am with the girls who left in disgust. Great writing, but I hope the hangovers are stupendous.

Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. You're right that they are all in trouble and only have themselves to blame. I'm glad you found the chapter both funny and realistic of male behavior (young or otherwise). We'll see how they all fare over the next couple of chapters. Thanks for reviewing. It's appreciated.

Men, really! Be they elves or mortals.
Don't Alex and Derek know that alcohol and ethyl coma are dangerous? They all behave like teenagers...

Author Reply: Hi Malice. Well, I'm sure Alex and Derek are well aware of such things, but they are apparently not in the mood to care, getting back at the three amigos for what they did in the valley of the waterfall, at least, Derek seems to be, since he's the one who issued the challenge and Alex is just going along with it. And you should know that, on the whole, the male of the species never truly grows up. *grin*
