Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 13 Review(s)

It would seem Farrell is back to his old tricks again if certain people can't drive their own cars again. If he can't get Amroth out of the way let's try for his student Alex then, he's much easier to get to. That guy's not playing with a full deck.

I wouldn't be surprised if those two loggers weren't Maiar in disguise looking out for the kids. Nice to see Nate again. Glad Glorfindel and Findel showed up when they did or there would be some very unhappy family members.

Now that Farrell is back in the picture, things are going to get very interesting.

Author Reply: Hi Clouded Leopard. Yeah, Farrel's back and we'll be seeing a bit more of him later. And you may be right about the two loggers. Of course, they could've just been loggers. We'll probably never know for sure. And things will get very interesting indeed. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it.

Did "Nate" tell Glorfindel and Finrod to get those five home? And why didn't he tell Alex if there's a bomb under his car? This may sound odd, but it was good to see Farrell (at least, now we know he's still there and doesn't know everything about the Elves). Otherwise, this was a nice and calm chapter and the three Amgos did nothing stupid for a chance.

Author Reply: Hi someone. I'm sure Nate, or one of the Maiar alerted Glorfindel. As for what may or may not be wrong with the car, we'll learn about that in the next chapter. And I think I know what you mean about Farrell. He's been out of the picture for quite a while and I know everyone's been worried. Having him in sight is preferable to not, I guess. Thanks for reviewing. It's always appreciated.

So the three ellyn think football is violent, do they? They should be used to the annual tournament back in Aman, when the various contestants do their level best to pound each other into the ground. And also the practice beforehand, when the wannabe contestants practice the pounding-into-the-ground.
Now, I don't really know anything about American-style football - on this side of the pond it's soccer that is the big thing, but I don't really follow that either.
So now Derek has met "Nate", and come out of that meeting still cool as a cucumber. But then Nate was in civvies, so to speak, so he would have appeared to be a quite normal person until the end, when he disappeared into thin air. Derek would certainly have guessed that something was up, given the reactions of the three young Elves, and with a bit of thought he would probably have figured out just who Nate was.
I find myself wondering a bit about those loggers that were so conveniently on hand to help Derek out with his confrontation with Farrell. Were they loggers, or were they something else? _Someone_ clearly was on guard, and caught Farrell fiddling with Alex' car, at least.
I hope Alex will be able to sleep this night. The previous night was very bad for him, and the day certainly wasn't a good one - especially as it ended with a face to face meeting with Námo, which was unlikely to do his poor, frazzled nerves any good.

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Oh, I'm sure they are used to the tournaments and probably even have participated in them, but I think Finda's comment refers to the fact that the three amigos probably did not expect to see this kind of violent entertainment among Mortals. A naive assumption, but these three know next to nothing about Mortals and certainly nothing about how modern Mortals entertain themselves with football and other sports.

Derek is pretty cool and as for the loggers, who can really say if they were who they appeared to be or something else entirely? We'll never know for sure. We should just be thankful they were there to help Derek and Alex out.

And I'm sure Alex will be okay. He's tougher than he looks and meeting Nate with his gwador beside him probably helped him not to freak out. *grin*

Thanks for reviewing. I am very appreciative.
