A sweet and peaceful afternoon: Frodo and Sam through the eyes of a cat! I like this very much. Author Reply: I really enjoy writing through the POV of a cat! It's a lot of fun to imagine.

I am glad Frodo found some contentment and peace with Strawberry. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Contentment and peace are what a kitty's purr is all about! :-)

Aww, sweet kitty! I'd love to hold and pet Strawberry myself. =) Author Reply: She is a sweetie! My kitty is a tuxedo, but I think Strawberry has her personality!

Frodo and Merry I'm certain were just this close when they were at these ages. And I'm glad Dahlia realized she'd reacted wrongly and begged Frodo's forgiveness. Love the lullaby. Author Reply: I am just now finding several reviews I didn't reply to! I hadn't done a hobbit lullaby in a long time; I thought this would be a good story for one. Dahlia is very young for the responsibility she has, and she is new to the more open and free ways of society in Buckland. She will never really be quite comfortable with being treated more like family than a servant; like Sam, she's been raised to "know her place", and she felt somewhat threatened by what she thought was Frodo's usurping of that place. She knows now, however, that Frodo's place right now is with Merry, and Merry's is with Frodo.

Poor hobbits! I can very well understand their discomfort. Two weeks ago I was bitten not by midges, but by a fly. It was a single fly, but it managed to bite me at least four times - in no more than ten minutes! It only stopped when I fled ;-) Author Reply: Insect bites can be so annoying, sometimes an itch is worse than pain!

And such pests they proved to be! Heh! Poor Hobbits--being undersized compared to Men they do make better targets for the midges. Author Reply: Exactly! Originally I had thought to do only the hobbits' POVs, but when I read that the sort of midge it was likely they encountered were low-swarming, I decided to add Aragorn's POV too!

I am just as glad that the invasion took time to clear up, I find. Heh! Now--to try peppermint oil on my windowsill and countertop!

That must be what it was like. And they were there for 2 days! I don't know how I would have handled it - I would have but not been any happier than the hobbits. This is one scene in the book I am glad I was there with them. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I know. Sheer misery!
