The Journey Home  by Fiondil 29 Review(s)
SiiwReviewed Chapter: 43 on 7/4/2013
I'll leave more lengthy reviews when I get time in front of a computer again, just popping in now to say how much I have enjoyed reading this story. It covers a long period of time, and still fits together perfectly and makes sense. It was so good to see some familiar faces again in the last chapters. I have become so used to seeing them in earlier stories, that it was easy to share the feeling of coming home.

Will the next story be the one about how my favourite OC got his job? :D

Author Reply: Hi Siiw. Any kind of review is great. I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I appreciate you letting me know. Thanks.

If by 'favorite OC', you mean Valandur, then you're right. *grin* I hope you enjoy it.

What an adventure this was; a marvelous one at that. Maglor is finally home and at peace.

Could this perhaps be the prequel to Elf Academy? It certainly fits.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. Yes, this sort of hints at Elf Academy. Very perceptive of you. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story and I appreciate you taking the time to leave reviews. Thanks.

Thanks for the great journey.

Author Reply: You're most welcome, Ellynn. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it very much.

Well, I've been really bad at reviewing this. I started reading when you were quite a way through so there is my excuse.

It was great to see Maglor get a happy ending and seeing a depth to his character that goes further than "Feanor's son" or to do with the silmarils and misery.

I'm glad they've finally made it, and found forgiveness and happiness at the end. Great story with a lovely happy ending.

Author Reply: That's okay Morn. Some people review every chapter, others wait until the end to leave a blanket review, whatever works best. I'm glad you enjoyed this story and, being a sucker for happy endings myself, I really wanted to give Maglor one. Poor guy really deserves it. Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed the story. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for this story. I feel a bit sad it's over, though am very happy for Maglor and family, of course. Would have loved a glimpse of the Feanorians with all darkness purged out of them (something rather difficult to imagine), so can't help but harbor hope there might be a sequel. And the children have so much potential! I am looking forward to reading your next tale on Friday.

Author Reply: You're welcome, Twoflower2. It is sad when a story ends, but at least this one ends happily and who knows? There may well be a sequel but not anytime soon. I'm glad you you enjoyed this story and I appreciate you taking the time to review and let me know. And I hope you like the next story as well. Thanks again.

*cheers* Everyone is home & safe and can start to heal. Also Namo rocks, I love how he reminds them all that they still have responsibilities on Middle Earth. Loved how Earendil came to say thanks (he really was the most absent parent ever...) and Elwing too, and dawww Elrond. Really liked the awkwardness of the children, and their almost-resentment too, having to follow their parents to a place they have no concept of. Just a random question, seeing as how Maglor marries Gloredhel here (yay!), what was your idea in regards to the sweetheart he supposedly left behind in Aman?

Author Reply: Hi bookworm. Námo always rocks. LOL! And did Maglor leave a sweetheart behind? I have no idea, but if he did I would hope she had the sense to realize he was never coming back and that she should find someone else who was better "sweetheart" material. At any rate, I'm glad you enjoyed the story and I appreciate you taking the time to leave reviews. Thanks.

I knew this was going to be a fantastic update when I had to fight with email to get in. Yes, it was a fantastic update, and sadly the last to this magnificent story. Great job as always, and I can not wait for you next story. :)

Author Reply: Hi Laer. I'm glad you enjoyed this story. Thanks for all your lovely and supportive reviews. I really appreciated them and I hope you enjoy the next story, which I will start posting on Friday.

Lovely, lovely story Fiondil. I am truly sad to see it come to an end as I looked forward to reading Maglor's journey, but love the way it ended. Thanks for sharing your vision with us. So much of Maglor is caught up in sadness that for once, I was happy to see him be gifted forgiveness!

Author Reply: Hi Fades. It is always sad to see a story end. There may be a continuation of the story sometime in the future but I can't guarantee it. It depends on what the Muse decides. At any rate, I'm happy to know you enjoyed this story and I appreciate all your reviews. Thanks.

And just the right ending - completing the circle. Such a satisfying tale all round; I have enjoyed every step of the journey - which is probably more than can be said of many of the participants in it!

I can imagine there may still be tales to tell of the Harthadrim - but I accept that they are for another day.

Author Reply: Hi Curiouswombat. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story and I really appreciate all your reviews. There may be more tales to tell of the Harthdrim and Maglor, but they will have to wait for another day. At any rate, an entirely new multichapter story will premier on Friday and perhaps you will enjoy it. Thanks again for all your wonderful reviews.

Oh well - yes, I suppose this was a natural stopping place - I would have loved seeing Maglor meeting his naneth and his brothers again, though. But hopefully your Muse will see the potential of seeing those young and, ahem, high-spirited young Harthadrim meet the staid Valinorean society. I can just imagine it! And the Valar and the Maiar themselves would probably be sitting back, enjoying the show and sipping Margaritas. Russandol especially sounds as if he is a new Glorfindel in the making, and that even though he hasn't gone through Mandos, though I'd guess all the children are probably real handfuls.

So Míriel - and her ships - makes the redoubtable Círdan want to leave the seashore and go pick her brain? Sounds as if he is fuming at not having her _right there_ to go over every millimeter of both those ships with him!

I've noticed your placeholder for a new story - has your Muse been channeling Ian Fleming? ;)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Well, the story had to end at some point and I think all the major events were covered. There may be other stories about the Harthadrim in the future but that is for the Muse to decide. In the meantime, a new story will be posted on Friday and, no, I didn't channel Ian Fleming when I was writing it. LOL! It's a bit different from my other stories but hopefully you will enjoy it.

Anyway, thanks for all your comments and suggetions, and thanks for nagging me to write this. *grin* I'm glad that I was able to satisfy your desire to know what happened to Maglor and the Harthadrim after they departed from the vicinity of Imladris.
