The Rings of Evendim  by shirebound 19 Review(s)

I've read some but not all of the stories in this universe and although I think them incredibly well written, I've always thought it a little sad that you've not given Frodo a life partner of his own to support him. In many ways JRRT's solution has always felt most appropriate to me in this area because he gave Frodo peace in another way. I hope that along the way this will be resolved whether in this story or another.

Author Reply: Thank you, Matt, I'm very glad to know that you feel my stories are well written. I've tried hard to get better as a writer over the years. I don't have a call or inspiration to write romance for Frodo; I leave that genre for other writers. I feel fulfilled surrounding him with the love, respect, and support of unconditional friendship, whether in Middle-earth or across the Sea.

I loved your version of The Memorial House in Annúminas because we see all the Fellowship together and honoured there. A lovely chapter. Can't wait to visit the vault with Frodo and Aragorn again.

Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. Isn't it lovely when everyone is honored, and their deeds celebrated, from one end of Middle-earth to the other?

Nice to see another chapter up here, my dear! I would have loved to have seen this memorial myself. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you, Antane. At least we can visit in our imaginations. I love to see the hobbits honored.

I love your description of the memorial. It seems a wonderful way for people to learn history and geography.

Author Reply: Thank you. I think visiting hobbits would be particularly intrigued, since their maps probably don't show much more than the Shire and Buckland.

Oh, I am all aquiver also with anticipation. And why am I imagining a small dog awaiting them within the chamber? And a low table with chairs apt to the comfort of Hobbits, and comfortable lighting, and mugs of ale and plates of cheese and flat breads? Heh! I think that Frodo will truly love this visit to old haunts.

Author Reply: LOL, I wonder what Elendil would think of such a hobbity makeover to his chamber-beneath-the-Hallow? :)

I love the way the Fellowship were all honored. This is a beautiful chapter and Pippin wasn't the only one with tears in his eyes.

Author Reply: Oh Addie, thank you. What a lovely thing to say.

Ah, lovely to see another chapter.

The Memorial House sounds most appropriate, not quite the Mathom House at Michel Delving, but a start!

Looking forward to visiting the 'Vault', hope they have swept the passage though, otherwise we will have a few, very, dusty Hobbits!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: It *is* a start! Annuminas will continue to grow and evolve as the building projects go on.

LOL, I remember the passage... covered in pearl dust. Quite different from what my vacuum picks up around here. :)

I am enjoying this story and can't wait to read the rest of it. I like the museum and the scrolls under each picture! Well done!

Author Reply: Thank you! Annuminas might be more rural than Minas Tirith, but (especially being so close to the Shire), it's a fitting place to remind everyone who visits about the contributions of hobbits to the peace of the Fourth Age.

Glad to see another chapter of this story. The museum sounds lovely and quite appropriate. Elessar was right about Pippin's contribution to ensuring that he would be greeted by the Gondorians as their rightful king and not as a conqueror. Saving Faramir's life made all the difference for Aragorn and others. Looking forward to revisiting Elendil's chamber along with Frodo.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for reading. Pippin's very important part in the return of the King didn't seem like something he might have considered, so it was fun to bring it to the hobbits' attention.
