Elf Academy 3: The Enemy Within  by Fiondil 17 Review(s)
ReaderKitReviewed Chapter: 116 on 2/4/2015
Yay, Darren will be alright! Hmm, and initiated into the warrior society; he deserves it. And it's okay you broke down Glorfi and Ingwe, crying helps sometimes.
It is good to see Lawrence and gwedar becoming more independent and capable in the Mortal world. Poor Nell; sometimes it sucks to be female.
I'm a little confused - was the encampment attacked too or did they just hear the mob at Edhellond and Maiar showed up to protect them just in case? EIther way, the quiet confusion makes a lot of sense. Ron needs another Elf trained as a psychiatrist to help him, he's just got way too many patients as it is. =)
Ooh, Dave is not gonna let these people get away with anything. I imagine Eonwe was hopping mad. *snort* Dave as a shoe salesman.
Thanks for the update!

Thank you to the site mods for posting the updates to this story - I am certain Fiondil would have wanted this.
Also, a big thank you for posting the links to Fiondil's obituary and condolences. I have left a condolence myself, under my real name, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity for this.

Things are still exciting in Wiseman, I see, though fortunately not quite as "exciting" as they potentially could have been, since nobody actually died. I guess Glorfindel was due some tears and a bit of comforting.
After the tears, it seems he slipped a bit into Balrog-slayer mode again, this time directed at the Kings. They may have wanted to stay at Daeron's bedside, but a sickroom packed full of anxious guests would just have been too exhausting for the poor patient.
And as it happens, it clearly was a good thing they returned to the encampment. Ingwë obviously did not take Daeron's almost-death well, and I suspect Olwë is more disturbed than he lets on.

It is sad to know that I won't get one of Fiondil's kind answers to my comments on his updates ever again. He was definitely one of the very best Fanfiction authors I've read, and "talking" to him via the comments - of via e-mail - was always a pleasure and something that always cheered me up.

Uh-huh, it seems that there was plenty of trouble at the encampment, too. I wonder what happened and who is really behind the whole conspiracy. It seems the enemy is on the move, too.

Loved Eönwe in disguise. Poor Dave Michaelson, I think he'll become completely grey by the end of this epos.

I just wanted to take a quick minute and think the person who is going to the trouble to go on posting this story after the author has died (Alassiel? Ellfine? Nilmandra?). I only discovered Fiondil's writings about three weeks ago, and thus was not as affected when I saw that he had died, but still I wish I had reviewed when he was alive and could have seen.

I'm sill awaiting approval to become an author on this site, but whether I ever get approved or not, I sill remain,

Again, let me start with my gratitude for posting the obituary and condolences site.

Glorfindel collapsing was quite a thing, the ellon has had too much on his plate for the last months and ever since coming to Wiseman. And I think more than the Twins, Daeron has been his reliable side for millennia long, I would not be surprised if the bound between Glorfindel and Daeron is just as strong as the bound between Glorfindel and Finrod in some way.
Inducting Daeron to the Warrior Society might be an excellent way to show how much he means to everyone, proving the ellon wants it himself as well.

I think being ordered out of the room was a new experience for all the kings.
Ingwë breaking down was another things. I've always seen as Ingwë as the innocent one of the Kings, Olwë has seen the evils of the kinslaying himself, Arafinwë was a warrior during the War of Wrath, but Ingwë was never faced with something of that magnitude happing to his people. This must have been scary for him to being with, being remember to Ingil by it showed there's even a straw that can break the High King's back.

Dave and Eönwë was a most interesting encounter, and Dave will be taking no prisoners on this one (actually, he will, but in the literal sense).

The idea of Eönwë being espoused...I don't even know if with all his duties, he has the time to give attention to a nice Maiar wife as well, although can really think he needs one to help him with his burden. On the other hand, I can see how his abilities to remember everything and to know when someone is lying can give awkward situations in a relationship.

Kaylee, the breakfast table sounds delicious, even though I've just had dinner, and I'm not sure what I can bring in to add. Drinkable yoghurt is popular among some people here (including myself), as is porridge.
Bread with jam, cheese, or peanut butter (as long as I don't have to eat the later) and boiled eggs! Oh and fruit! Fruit is always good too.

As a extra, I'll bring my music collecting. There's some lovely music in there for remembrance and quite a few different styles, so we can all find something for our liking.

Take care everyone and hugs.

Now that's an useful way to deal with a bullet in a body – just dissolve it. Much less damage than removing it. Though I guess it's too much of a strain for the healers.

Hm, what Vardamir said makes sense; in such a situation trust would be a big issue between patient and healer. That was much more sensible than what happened with Glorfindel earlier.

Oh wow, Glorfindel isn't pulling any punches, is he? That was just the last straw, I guess; he's been under way too much stress, and the worry about what might happen with the Kings around is just too much. Must be a rather new experience for the Kings to be more or less thrown out of the house.

Anyway, I am glad Daeron is on the way to recovery and out of danger, from how it sounds. Glorfindel's idea to induce him into the Warrior Society after what he did to save Olwë surprised me, but it would certainly be quite the honour.

Now I wonder when Ingwë broke down last, if ever. Was probably a very long time ago. How ironic that he had to come to the Mortal lands only to experience such a shock! But I can see why he was more affected than his fellow Kings, particularly with that old memory in mind.

Poor Dave. It has to be a disturbing feeling when people pop into his office like that, and as if that's not bad enough, now he's got a lot of extra work to do. I really hope he is getting these people for all he can. Yes, I am feeling pretty vindictive right now; even if some may have just been carried away by the mob, they all had rather murderous intentions, so that's not an excuse in my eyes.

Atto,

I know you're not here to read this at your computer anymore, but maybe Lord Námo and Eru will let you see. Anyway, I'm very glad Daeron is all right, and I laughed at how Eönwë just turned up to see Michaelson (who thinks he ought to have become a shoe salesman. Poor Dave. It might be less exciting, but who knows, in Wiseman, maybe not.)

It's good to see Lopez is among those who will be rounding up Eönwë's list. I wonder just who he'll find.

Oh well, I'll discuss it at the Cliff House with our beloved family of readers, Atya. It's morning by me, so I'm in the kitchen whipping up some scrambled eggs and sourdough toast; there's butter, jam and orange marmalade, and there's extra eggs and wheat and rye bread for whoever likes those better. Waffle/pancake batter in the bowl and the griddle's warming up. The waffle iron's plugged in, and there's a bowl of grapes, oranges and apples on the table with the carafes of milk, someone start the coffee, hot chocolate and tea and we might be all set. It'd be interesting to see what our non-American friends contribute to Cliff House breakfast - I'm open to pretty much anything, I think :)

Anor is out and she seems happy enough to shine for me, so I'll dry my tears, be grateful to Eru and the Valar that Darren made it, and continue to keep watch for new chapters.

By the way, I have no idea if Ellie or Alassiel know, because you never answered me, Atya. Is Eönwë espoused or not?!

Tye-melin,

Kaylee
