Hmm... Sadly, I fear they'll get their 'something of greater consequence'... I hate most of all, I think, to think of Arwen having to put up with this, in a time that should be so joyful for her. Interested to see how things go from here! Author Reply: Very true. Just for that, I think I'll make sure she has something to say about it in the next chapter. There are so many characters swirling around now, and I'd hate for her to end up a piece of mute arm candy. Thank you!

Falathir doesn't seem to realise just who he is plotting against. It is bad enough that he thinks he can win against Faramir, Imrahil and Aragorn, but to plot against an Elvenking with millenia of experience? There is no way he can win this. I'm looking forward to seeing how he intends to do it. The image of Imrahil as a loyal bulldog is not one I have ever seen before! Pelargir with its "fashionable" buildings sounds like it would be a fun place to visit. Author Reply: Desperate times, and all that. Thanks for reading!

Ah, but how we love those who scheme behind the scenes to ruin those they ought to respect.

Whew. The intrigue is deepening... Seems like everyone's in for a rougher ride than they might like... Author Reply: Thanks for reading! We will try not to disappoint. :)

Ah, this one is no better than he should be, then. I doubt that things will go anywhere as well as he now imagines. And Baldor appears to be heading for a rather spectacular fall, or so I would guess it.

Hmm. It would appear this Baldor has a good deal to learn both of the untrustworthiness of the Variags and about the true nature of Elves.

So - shark for dinner - but no hákarl? (That would certainly have put curl into the chest hairs of the guests. Though that dish takes 6-12 weeks to ... ahem, prepare.) So this chapter, and the next, describes the food, some fashion choices, and the incompareble perfection of Elves, especially Thranduil. And Bad Guys are planning stuff.

Interesting story. Imrahil certainly knows how to throw a party! I hope that Faramir will eventually make an appearance in the narrative; but I like how you have presented Thranduil.

I am so excited to find this story! There is a serious lack of good Thranduil-visits-Gondor stories and I always love reading them. The plot sounds intriguing - unrest at the elves living in the city is not an idea I have read much about. This Baldor sounds suitably vile to be presumably the villain of the piece. I would love to know more about what rumours he has been bandying around. I will eagerly await a new chapter! :)
