Yum, deviled eggs. Or maybe they'd be called Sauroned eggs? Author Reply: Good point! Heh! We love them, too, as long as they don't have capers or other odd things in them. Garnished with sprigs of parsley they look lovely and taste better!

Ah, deviled eggs! I do love them, even though the name is still confusing to me (I've also heard of, but never tried, 'deviled ham' and I don't quite know what's meant by it.) Sign me up for the feast! (At least, if there's more to drink than beer and ale! :) ) Kaylee

Dumplings, hmm? Can't say as I've had too many of those, with chickens, apples or otherwise! But this feast is certainly shaping up to be a proper Hobbitish delight, I'd think! The more food the merrier! (Although I am wondering what on earth Q, X and Z will be...) Kaylee

Cherries and chocolate! Mmm, a delicious combination! I really want chocolate covered cherries now, look what Bilbo's done to me! The beer didn't tempt me (unless there was root beer to be had - question, are root beer and the 'small beer' I see noted in so many places the same thing?) but chocolate and cherries, or chocolate covered cherries? Want! :D Kaylee

O my Larner, but they really are in for tipsy hobbits, I'd think! Though maybe not, if so much good food absorbs all the alcohol...I've been enjoying this series so far! Kaylee

That is going to be one big celebration! I am gaining weight just reading about it. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Oh, I know! Holidays are a terrible time to be trying to get our weight down! Heh!

I'd like to join them for the New Year's Celebration. Everything sounds yummy. Author Reply: Oh, but doesn't it? Thanks so, Tari!

Of course I started reading backwards, with today's installment first, because I do that sort of thing, and then I read the rest in sort of random order, and then I read it all the way through in order (since they were drabbles, I had the luxury of time!), and then I realised that you are following the alphabet! I feel so clever... (not) ...but then, I might excuse myself with the fact that I've had half my usual morning coffee -- am cutting down again. Anyhow, this sounds like a feast I'd like to have an invitation to attend! (You really got me on "C" -- chocolate. and cherries. One of my favourite combinations, though it has to be good chocolate, none of that waxy stuff, and good cherries, none of that artificial flavour made from coal tar or whatever it is. Somehow I'm sure that Bilbo would have the good stuff. Author Reply: Oh, but I'm certain that his chocolate, most likely brought to him by Dwarvish traders, would be the good stuff! Heh! Looking forward to seeing you the end of the month!

I finally caught up - took me long enough, I know. Sorry. Real Life was being... stressful. And now I am prepared to get hungry each evening. ;) This is going to be an amazing feast! Author Reply: Oh, but I certainly do know all about Real Life! It keeps smacking me up alongside the head! Glad to hear from you! Yes, this ought to be quite the feast, shouldn't it?

Your story is making me hungry! Author Reply: It's doing the same for me, it appears. Heh! Thanks, Shirebound.
