Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the leader of the team of NCIS agents who look into crimes involving or committed by Navy and Marine people, was a Marine sniper during his term of service to the nation. Part of the reason the phrase is increasingly popular is due to the popularity of the series. | |

| "Bless Sam!" is right! I couldn't have put it better myself! What a wonderfully insightful Hobbit Sam is, and so right - Dark Lords and all do seem to favour wastelands, don't they. It's as if they're personally insulted by the very idea of things that are green and growing! I wonder why that might be...Hmm...*ponders* Author Reply: I don't know why they appear to prefer sterility to growth, but perhaps it's because they know they can't continue to control growing things forever. Aragorn was indeed a just and merciful King..., Author Reply: He was certainly wise enough to know that if he'd pushed them onwards he would have been little better than Sauron himself, and that it would be likely some would have frozen into immobility at a crucial time, making matters worse for him and those who were trying to fight effectively. | |
