| Intriguing!! I like the interactions between the Elf King and Gimli. I look forward to seeing how the plot unfolds. | Ooh,ooh, this looks interesting! What have you up your sleeve this time?! It has all your usual wonderful mixture of humour and drama. I loved the scene between Aragorn and Gimli, I’m still laughing at the idea of Aragorn wandering out in his nightclothes to rescue an indignant dwarf! And yay, Thranduil! He is making an effort to be civil, isn’t he?! It was so lovely when he tried to reassure Aragorn, even though he disapproves of his friendship with his son. *sigh* I always love to see Thranduil, but especially when he’s in worried-father mode...:) Author Reply: In answer to your question, maybe something a little unexpected! Thranduil is doing his best, albeit through gritted teeth where Gimli is concerned.. the animosity bred over centuries is not likely to disappear overnight :) And yes, he is a GOOD father! | |

| An ominous start to the story, jenolas. But a very well-written start, none the less. I liked how you kept the participants' anxiety level under control. They're concerned and worried, but not panicking yet. That's a good approach on two levels. One, as adults, the characters would know that there are many reasons why Legolas might have "disappeared" and not all of them are disasterous. Two, as an author, you have given yourself headroom to crank up the characters' anxiety if and when the occasion warrants. (And I suspect it will, alas.) Very good planning on your part. I also liked the humor at the beginning where Gimli jokes about the guard's shock at the Dwarf seeing the King in less than appropriate dress. I hadn't really thought about the fact that the year or so spent traveling together necessitated a certain lack of modesty, as Aragorn delicately puts it. But you're absolutely right, and I was smiling over the realization. And then you have Gimili chiming in mentally with the comment about having seen as much of the King as the Queen. *That* sent me over the edge with laughter. :-) Can't wait to read more. Not only am I curious to know what happened to Legolas but also to see how Thranduil, Aragorn, and Gimili work together to find the elf that they love in common.
