An Unexpected Adventure [IN HIATUS]  by KathyG 332 Review(s)

I rejoice that they are all safe, and that Denethor's grief has been lifted. At least he admitted he'd used the Palantir, so there won't be more mischief there, I hope. It will be interesting to see hos he reacts to the Return of the King.

Author Reply: Yes, it will, won't it? Boromir's survival will change a lot of things that would have happened otherwise. K.G.

Excellent description of the battle. Kevin has now a good impression of the chaos of war, and how a wise soldier finds shelter for injured friends.

Author Reply: He certainly does. You know, this is 2 battles that Kevin has fought in so far, and he's only a high-school freshman back home! He's certainly finding out what war is like, and that's a fact. K.G.

A terrible battle to watch, to be certain. But Halbarad has been saved, and Eowyn knows her own attraction to Aragorn will not be reciprocated.

Author Reply: True on all counts! Thankfully, Halbarad will live to be his cousin Aragorn's friend and support, and Eowyn has to face the fact that Aragorn will never be her husband. And you're not kidding about the battle! K.G.

I'm so glad the Galadhrim found Amdir, and that Steve and "Rudolph" (hehe) kept Gail, Kaylee and Megan safe! Radagast keeping an eye on Lucy was definitely good too - brave puppy!

(P.S. Orophin, not Oropher. Oropher was Thranduil's father. *grin* )

I do hope you're better now Dreamflower, and this was an excellent chapter from both you and KG!

Author Reply: Thanks for letting us know that! I've just finished correcting that name.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed the chapter! So is Dreamflower, I know. K.G.

I'd all but forgotten that Boromir had survived in this version. I am so glad that Legolas was able to reassure the horse.

And Steve and Gail get some lessons from their daughter! They have a lot to learn still, I suspect.

Author Reply: They certainly do, don't they? And it's fortunate that Legolas was able to calm the horse, seeing as Boromir and Joey need to be able to keep up with Gandalf and Pippin. K.G.

I am glad that Merry pulled Joey back when he did. So it is that Pippin caught the brunt of Sauron's attention!

Author Reply: Yep, he sure did! K.G.

*hugs KG and Dreamflower* I'm so glad everyone's reunited! It seems that Halbarad and Denethor both made it, though Theoden did not. Poor Theoden! But it had to happen, I'm sure. I'm so glad the three eldest McCloud children have been reunited with each other, and with at least two of four of their hobbit friends. At least Pippin and Merry are well!

I'm excited to find out how Frodo and Sam are doing, as well as the youngest McClouds with their parents and companions. Take your time - Dreamflower being better is far more important! Much love from me and my Donut-muse,

Kaylee

P.S. *Donut offers fish to Dreamflower for purposes of feeling better, but doesn't bring it near Legolas because he knows seagulls make Legolas uncomfortable*

Author Reply: I'm so glad you're back to reading our story! I, for one, have missed your reviews, and so has Dreamflower, I'm sure. I'm glad you've enjoyed this chapter! I agree that it's great that Kevin, Jennifer, and Joey have been reunited with one another, and with Merry and Pippin. K.G.

Hi Kathy & Dreamflower! (and ouch...poor Dreamflower, please get well soonest! much love and best wishes!!)

I've been reading along and failing to review - again - *sighs* My apologies! :(

But this has been a thrilling ride, and I'm glad to see Denethor seems saner here than in canon! Good to see Pippin and Joey on duty about the City, and I'm very glad they can serve Boromir personally and Denethor doesn't seem to have a problem with them! Oh, poor Bergil, separated from his little brother and mother! I hope that they will reunite when all the horrors are over!

I don't mind having to wait two weeks at all - I completely understand. I do hope Dreamflower's recovery goes well and only wish I could send her Elrond and his Elvish medicine, or Aragorn, to help her out!

Author Reply: Yeah, that WOULD be ideal, wouldn it? LOL! What do you think, Dreamflower? =)

I'm glad you're still reading our story, Kaylee! As for Denethor, well, I suspect that Boromir's survival has had a lot to do with that. It's great that Joey and Pippin have a chance to serve Boromir, isn't it? K.G.

Author Reply: I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you, dear, although it's still pretty painful. I'm glad you are still enjoying the story. DF

Author Reply: It's great to have you back, Kaylee! Yeah, some Elvish medicine would be good for Dreamflower right about now, wouldn't it? =) K.G.

What a shock for Denethor, but a wonderful shock!

Author Reply: Yeah, isn't it, though? =)
