Biography:   I'll admit to being drawn into the Tolkien world by the movies, and I have Peter Jackson to thank for introducing me to such an incredible world. But while the movies captured my imagination, the books have captured my heart. I must thank Thundera Tiger for providing the nudges, prods, and beta-ing above and beyond what one should expect; her encouragement brought me to the point where posting a story was not so terrifying and where writing the stories in my head have become nearly mandatory.

In most of my stories, you're likely to see a concentration on bookverse, with a smattering or nod to movieverse. My imagination is most often sparked by the friendships between Legolas and Gimli or Legolas and Aragorn, though Sam and Frodo often do the trick too, as do the Fellowship as a whole. But let's see where these characters take me, shall we?

MY NEW STORY IS COMPLETE! Never thought I'd see the end, but there it is. It has quite a bit more action than my previous stories. You'll also find four other complete stories, plus a drabble series. I hope you enjoy!

For those who ask the inevitable question: Yes, I have begun a new story. This one will be somewhat of a mystery story. It will be a while before you see anything posted, however.
bullet With Hope and Without Hope by docmon Last Updated: 9/23/2008
FIRST PLACE in 2008 MEFA Awards! One decision made differently--the Three Hunters run through that second night of their chase after the Orcs rather than rest--and everything changes. Well, not everything. They're merely captured like Merry and Pippin. One decision changed doesn't change one's destiny, however. Reaching the fate destiny has in store for them is a bit peskier, though. There's action, adventure, suspense, a bit of angst, and hopefully an enjoyable story for all. Feedback welcome.

bullet Aragorn's Moment by docmon Last Updated: 1/24/2007
WINNER 2007 MEFA Award! In FotR, we read: “Their farewells had been said in the great hall by the fire...Bilbo huddled in a cloak stood silent on the doorstep beside Frodo. Aragorn sat with his head bowed to his knees; only Elrond knew fully what this hour meant to him.” I have always wondered what Tolkien meant by that line: what did that hour, that moment mean to Aragorn? What was going through his head? What did Elrond know that no other did? This vignette is my interpretation of the moment.

bullet Choosing by docmon Last Updated: 7/9/2006
HONORABLE MENTION in 2008 MEFA Awards! Three choices, three destinies. Three leaders choose the messengers to send to Imladris who then become members of the Fellowship. Thanks to Thundera Tiger and Chathol-linn for their help! Too long for the name drabble, these three vignettes are much better than they would have been without the comments of these two writers.

bullet A Drabble by Any Other Name...? by docmon Last Updated: 3/12/2006
At first a place for my Yule Mathoms Challenge entries, I'm now dubbing this a place for my drabbles. I can't always keep a drabble close to 100 words, though I am getting better! More often you'll find drabbles-and-a-half, or double-drabbles. Nevertheless, I will be posting snippets of various sorts, characters, and whatever pops into my head. Some are entries to the few Yule Mathoms Challenge entries I managed. Others are for the "Back to Middle-earth Month" Challenge at There'n'Back Again.

bullet Answering the Call by docmon Last Updated: 1/28/2006
FIRST PLACE in 2008 MEFA Awards! A series of vignettes in which each member of the Fellowship hears the call of the Ring-and answers it. My take on the big What-If, pursuing the possibility for each character to take the Ring. Varying degrees of angst, drama, action, and perhaps a little more angst.

Gimli shows Legolas the Glittering Caves and learns about beauty and friendship. Many thanks to Thundera Tiger, beta-extraordinaire!
