My Collection of Drabbles   by Periantari

Color Amidst Darkness

He could still see the dressing of the trees in their full splendor of their red, gold and orange leaves, keeping the color present in his world which had become increasingly dark.

The Ring bore down upon him, the shoulder wound pained him terribly, yet the seasonal ritual trees experienced to bring about such lovely colors filled him with hope, kept the light in the world present amidst the iciness that tried to sway him into a colorless world.

The orange candle-light in the dark illuminates the warm hand which comfortingly stroked upon his cold cheek.

“Hang in there, Frodo.”

A/N- Written in response to the tolkien_weekly "Leaves" drabble challenge.
