The Wizard's Coin  by Grey Wonderer 48 Review(s)
ChiggerReviewed Chapter: 10 on 1/26/2004
That's like the ending of a Bob Hope-Bing Crosby movie! Wonderful, and yet rather aggravating at the same time! :)

Well, so much for the big fish dragging Merry through the Brandywine. Oh, well. :)

What's the next story and when ya' gonna start it? Having just finished "Treason" at last, I believe I'm going to take a break from writing. My creative juices have all dribbled away somewhere. I hope yours haven't. :)

If there's anything I can do for you in the future, just let me know. All your help with my stories must be repayed. Thanks a lot, both for your help, and your wonderful stories.

Author Reply: You have helped from the beginning, Chigger. When I come up with the next one, I will let you know. I seem to be on a break myself at this point. Who knows when something will come to me. Till then I guess if you are on a break also, we will just have to read someone elses stories. Lots of good things on here to pick from and more all the time. Take care!

I hope they find the coin on the fishing trip. Maybe Merry could do it Deagol style. :)

Thank you, Merry. And thank YOU Frodo. At last things are getting better around the Hall. And I think Bilbo will be more than happy to get back home. ;)

Author Reply: I never thought of that Deagol bit when I was writing this one! Might have been a fun thing to try! LOL As to Bilbo, I think he will recover from his visit in time.

Hi There

Once again you have written a very wonderful story..Although at first I was a little upset that Merry spanked Pippin.. because at first I thought he was spanking him for stealing the coin..(silly me) when I thought that Merry deserved a spanking himself for stealing the coin from Gandalf in the first place... and then I thought well of course Pip deserved the spanking (for climbing the tree) and for frightening the life out of Frodo and Merry... I understand that feeling only too well, being the mother of two somewhat grown up children now.. but the fear you feel when they do something totally stupid when they are young knows no bounds, and I thoughly understand the reaction that Merry had, when he thought that something tragic could have happened to Pippin..They really do love him.. don't they??...Pip's a lucky lad to have so much love shown to him..Thank the overheavens that everything turned out fine in the end...Please continue writing all these wonderful stories...I think that you have found yourself a new number one fan...

Author Reply: I appreciate your reviews. It is so nice when people take the time after reading to let you know what they think. I almost didn't post the chapter where Merry punishes Pippin, but after a bit of thought, I figured that it would be a normal reaction. After all, Merry, in this story anyway, is afraid of heights himself so he was even more frightened than Frodo or even Pippin at the end. Again, thank you for reading.

Ah, so now the table has been turned. Before it was Merry not forgiving Pip. Now it's Pip not forgiving Merry. O_o Those two must drive poor Frodo crazy! No wonder he decided to leave them behind and go to Mordor alone. :)

So, what's the next story you're going to write, Pippin's adventure at the top of another tree? :) I think that kid's memory is faulty. He also has Selective Hearing. :)

Author Reply: LOL, I think the next adventure at the top of a tree involves the Ents and I don't know if I'm ready to tackle that one! Pippin and Merry may be on their own on that one. I love Treebearde but I don't know if I could write for him.

This is the end?? No more?? Sniff.

You have a wonderful way of telling a great story! Thanks for the compliment, and for being an extra pair of eyes for my stories! I'll be eagerly waiting for your next story--you're already on my favorites and alerts. Take care.

Author Reply: Honored to have made your favorites list and thank you for all of the reviews! I have no clue what I am writing next so it may be a while unless something just strikes me. For now, I will just read your stories and some of the other amazing writers on this site.

A wonderful end to a wonderful story!! That would be just the thing that would later bring back Pippin's memory, that touch of magic. Thank you for another fun story!

Author Reply: Thank you for reading! The idea for the coin showed up in the previous story and made writing this one easier as it had a background of sorts. Now, who knows whats next? I look forward to more of your stories as I love your Pippin! Keep writing.

Awww! Poor little Pip! That darned Merry! :-P

PF

Author Reply: I think Merry had just had enough at that point. Too much worry can make you do things that you might not otherwise. It's a shame Bilbo couldn't stick around long. Merry might have cooled off a bit more.

So laughable...and so cute! Hey--what other practical way is there to warm up our toes, huh? That's how I used to warm up my feet with the old Ex! Of course, that's probably one of the reasons why we're exes...! :-P

PF

Author Reply: Hey, if he couldn't warm up your feet now and again, then he wasn't worth keeping. LOL

Hurray! More Pippin and Bilbo interactions (to be honest, I never much liked Bilbo when I first read "The Hobbit", but now I like him a lot - from Ian Holms' performance and from playing "The Hobbit" video game far too much!). I can certainly imagine Pippin having enemies, especially hobbits like Toby! Another fabulous set of chapters! Let's hope they keep coming out so quickly!

Author Reply: More on this one over the weekend. Nearly done with it. I think Pippin says the wrong thing too often not to have a few enemies. He's too honest. As to Bilbo, I have always loved him. He has a sweet nature and he is so different that I think it makes him fun. The odd relative that always surprises you. Thanks for reading.

Merry and Frodo bragged about who was the most handsome! LOL! But I knew Frodo was always the one who could climb best. I'm writing my new series that includes that. BTW, love this chapter very much! So detailed the description.

Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed it! The rest of this story should be up soon. I think by tomorrow or Sunday. It's finished, I am just reading for mistakes. You'll have to let me know what you think. I look forward to your Frodo story.
