A delightful chapter! Glorfindel and Erestor were once again a very entertaining duo. :-D

Author Reply: glad you liked it and thanks for saying so.

Ah, elves frolicking in water. Delightful.

Who knew the Galadhrim were so lighthearted?! I love that they are so at ease with Haldir and even Celeborn and vice-versa. It shows a real camaraderie. The cheek of Elrohir to imitate his grandfather. It’s a good thing Celeborn was feeling forgiving that day. And what a loyal bunch of guards he has that they’ll even “capture” their lord’s grandsons. Legolas seems to have taken Celeborn’s words to heart and is calling him by his name, as well as seeming more relaxed around him. If I were Legolas, though, I’d have taken Celeborn’s remark as a challenge and promptly attacked Haldir & co.! He appears to be left out of the fun a little.

Glorfindel and Erestor seem utterly engrossed in their game. It must have been a bit strange to suddenly realise that they’d been completely abandoned by everyone! I had to laugh at Erestor being so compassionate about Glorfindel’s “disfigurement”. I do love the teasing that goes on between the two of them. So Celeborn, Glorfindel and Erestor have wandered back to the glade? You *have* to have a chapter with those three together!:)

Author Reply: I guess Legolas is a little reluctant to join in since he does not know the others all that well, and especially when you consider he says he has never been to Lothlorien.

As for having a chapter about the other three, I am working on it right now. Besides how can an elder elf fancier such as myself refuse to do anything else...hmmm ( or, more correctly, yummmm!!)

Very entertaining. :-) Oi! Nothing like mocking in elder only to discover they are listening. ;-)

Author Reply: Indeed, Elrohir should have been more careful. I am sure he will be next time!

I have to admit my first reaction was "Naked Elves! Yes!" But all in all, this lot had a good time on their little expedition to the woods, and I enjoyed the opportunity to see it.

Author Reply: Naked by implication, (or imagination certainly....*smile*), and having good, clean fun, as one would expect. I am pleased to give a little glimpse into the lighter side.

I just love the atmosphere of this story. Naughty wet elves having fun in the forest and playing in the water. It's great to have them all enjoying themselves without battle and torture and general agony. And they are just all so gorgeous.

Author Reply: I imagine Elves like to be carefree and light hearted as much as anyone else, especially now that most of the dangers they would normally have to be wary of have passed.

Let's hear it for errant elves! I am loving this little interlude in the forest-I guess they were all grateful to be out of the confines of all that stone and away from all those prying eyes - adoring or otherwise. Now what's this about swimming - would that be, perhaps, with tunics off? Hmmmmmm? One can only hope and imagine.... I thoroughly enjoyed Celeborn and Legolas going off to commune with the trees, and their conversation. Celeborn is a good "uncle" or whatever to the I've always loved the way the elves love the trees, and the way the trees love their elves. Celeborn's story about Thranduil and Oropher and Galadriel was very interesting, as well. Thranduil defending Galadriel? That's a new approach....I think I like it! :-) Great chapter.

Author Reply: Thanks, and I am guessing you will really enjoy the next chapter as well when we go and see what Haldir and co are doing.*wink*

Great chapter! A funny little side-story about Thranduil and his intended bride, with a suitable (or perhaps, unsuitable *snorts indelicately*) ending, Legolas is getting a song written about his heroic self, and it starts off with Celeborn and Haldir sparring with their tunics OFF! (*sigh* I just love the elves! ;-) and all the trouble they get into, may they never change!) Update soon...oh, and BTW, I loved that term "farspeak" you used to talk about Celeborn talking with Galadriel.

Author Reply: Thanks for the review. I see you are another of the elf fanciers out there, who appreciates the males of the species. *grin*

Ooooooohhhhh! A party! A skin of wine (or 2..or 3), a loaf of bread (or in this case, cheese and dried fruits) and just about every male elf in Minas Tirith! Sounds like fun! :-) But, poor Lindir! Bless his heart, so polite and helpful...of course, he'll be the only one not in trouble with Arwen later!
I found the disagreement between Glorfindel and Erestor very interesting...Glorfindel always is so lighthearted, but he can still be offended by a friend. Liked the race, tho'...a good wager is always curative for the tender male ego! *vbg* So, a bunch of elves and a lot of the King's best wine....do update soon!

Author Reply: Thanks for your review, it sounds like you are enjoying the 'party atmosphere' so far.

LOL I knew the twins would try and do something during this interlude. I'm impressed that they managed to carve a serviceable chess set in a few hours. And then to stain them with blackberry juice --- quite ingenious. Did your knowledge of blackberry juice stains come from personal experience?

Author Reply: Their expertise comes from long hours spent around the campfire with little else to do whilst away on their orc hunts.

In my case it was mulberry juice. My Nan had a huge mulberry tree that my siblings and I used to climb whenever we visited. Overripe mulberries are delicious and very 'squishy' and make good little paint balls, if you get my drift. More than once we were 'reprimanded' for stained clothes and dyed hands!
