Trust a Brandybuck and a Took!  by Grey Wonderer 618 Review(s)
DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: 7 on 7/19/2004
Stubborness, thy name is Took! Determination, thy name is Peregrin! Look out Merry, here he comes!

Author Reply: Merry is in for a time because Pip will not be left for long.

Lovely! Pippin's faith in his Merry is boundless! And Merry is gradually beginning to appreciate Pip as well as love him. "Fearless imp!" indeed!

Author Reply: I think sometimes it takes a while to realize just who your friends are and Merry is starting to get the idea.

How sweet! The way Errol "spoke" to Merry and not Pippin was cute, sometimes it is easier to pretend it is someone else with the problems! Very cute, thank you!

Author Reply: Pip wanted Merry to think that he was brave and so he used Errol a bit. I don't suppose the bunny minded too much and Merry was good enough to play along. Thanks for all of the lovely reviews. Very encouraging!

Perfect! Very appropriate that Merry and Pippin get caught in their own snare! I like that Merry isn't going to beg but Pippin is ready to do a little begging in order to get down! I think I would too if I was hung by my ankles! Thank you!

Author Reply: I figure that Merry has too much pride to beg for much of anything, but Pip might be able to charm his way out of this mess. Glad you enjoyed this.

That was too cute! You used such cute terms like "“Don’t talk to me,” Merry said, firmly. “I don’t plan to like you." and "Merry had to realize that he was the proud owner of a new cousin." were my favorites! Thank you for such a fun story!

Author Reply: Thank you for reading and reviewing this one. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it.

Well, for once it was daytime when I read this, LOL! I saw at once where this one was going--and that made it even more hilarious. Notice that even at this young age, Pippin has a penchant for finding trouble, and that Merry even then *knows* this. Hopefully, Frodo will have learned to listen to Merry when it comes to Pippin from here on out. How long do you suppose it takes skunk to wear off?

Author Reply: No clue how long it would take the skunk smell to wear off but having smelled skunk in passing, I'd guess that it takes far too long. LOL Glad you enjoyed this one. I have a feeling that there will be more of them. Looking forward to more of you story also. (hint hint)

These are so cute!!!! I loved everyone of them. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Author Reply: Thank you. You read them all? I am glad that you enjoyed them. I may have one or two more in the next few days, but like these, they will be short, one-chapter stories. Thank you for reading.

Omigosh! Why do you always do this to me in the middle of the night? I'm having silent hysterics here! This is the funniest one yet! I could picture all this so easily--you are a genius! Pip with the bucket on his head, Merry and Pervinca bickering over getting it off. I loved Pearl in this one, not even losing her cool when she took a tumble getting it off. "Merry and Pervinca were useless." (snort*wheeze*chuckle*wipe tears) You keep this up, and some night I'm going to wake everybody up and it will be *all your fault*! (giggle*chuckle*snigger)

Author Reply: Hey, we night owls love company and so we try to keep everyone else awake too! When you do wake them, you may blame me for all of it, Or you could take the hobbit way out and bribe them with food. Feed them and then send them back to bed. I am such a trouble maker. It may be why I am attracted to Merry and Pippin.
I am so glad Pearl came off as the calm one in this. I discribed her that way in the original story and was trying to keep her true to character. Took me a while to come up with a way for Pip to get a bucket stuck on his head and so I am glad to see that it worked. Get some rest because I plan to post another one of these tomorrow night. LOL

Oops. Missed seeing the "age thingy" at the top first time round. Ignore question.

Awww! Naturally Merry can't resist Pip for long. And I love Errol! (Where *did* you come up with "Errol"?) So cute and funny, and a nice change of pace to have it in Merry's voice.

Author Reply: I, like Merry, have no idea why the bunny's name is Errol. It just sounded right at the time. It was interesting writing this as Merry. Glad it came off well. I may try it again sometime.
